As per market sanario in Industrial automation
80 % market is captured by PLC.
10 % Microcontroller & 10 others.

You should try in PLC field..
Contact "New-Era" also know as "Necon" in Guargaon
for tech. exposer

And in indusies mostly used Mirocontrollers are 8 bits
90% market is captued by
1) 51core(89C5x, x--1,2,5,7) and other darivative www.atmel.com
2) PIC series(16Cxx,16Cxxx,17Cxxx,18Cxxx) for more detail visit www.microchip.com
3) MSP430 series from TI visit(www.ti.com)

I have EDA tools only for Microcontroller and a very limited knoweldge about PLC. But my friends are working in PLC field.
