Most amazing Arun. I could not imagine that a name like Arun will be so wide spread.. This is not a simple coincidence. There is more to it. I will raise the issue with my local UK friends and try to find out more about it.

* Arun or Aruna refers to the charioteer of the Sun or the rising Sun, according to Hindu scriptures.

because the rising sun is red and hence the second meaning of Arun is "Laal" as you said. But the primary meaning of the word "Arun" is "the rising sun".

Rajendera uncle, Kya koi information mili about the city and the river with name Arun in UK?

I have been working on the subject and found a person in UK whose name is Dr Arun Holden( http://www.cbiol.leeds.ac.uk/ ). From surname he does not sound Indian. I have written to him if he can throw some light on the subject. Let us wait for his response, else I will approach others.
