Dear Members,
As I had posted earlier, this year's Diwali Function will be celebrated at the South Brunswick Senior Citizen Center Recreation Hall on 5th November 2005. It is a fabulous hall and you will find the festivity in the function that is associated with the occasion.
The invitations have gone by email as well as normal mail (USPS). I have also called many members personally and confirmed whether or not they have received the invitation. If you did not get the invitation or the call from me, then the only reason is that I don’t have your contact information. There is still over three weeks time and I shall be honored if you can send me your mailing information as well as the contact number so that we can mail you this year’s invitation as well as ensure that you receive further invitations well in advance. Your information may please be sent to me at my personal email address at veerutav@optonline.net
We have had a very good time at last year’s Diwali function and it was your participation that led us to shift the venue to a bigger hall, as the last year’s attendance was overwhelming and the old venue was found to be a little congested. The younger generation wanted a better venue and here we are at new venue. We need your maximum participation this time as well. Your overwhelming response at this year’s Picnic in July is also making us think as to how we can further improve the next event in July 2006. We are open to suggestions and many members have been very kind to share their views with us.
I have received confirmations from many members, but not from all. What I want to request you are, to confirm your participation well in time so that we are able to organize the function better. This will help us economize the expenses and also save us from any likely embarrassment.
The most important request to you all is that, “KINDLY BE IN TIME SO THAT WE ALL CAN MAKE MAXIMUM USE OF THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS”. In my opinion the most important part of the event is the first half an hour when we all meet other community members one-on-one. So, kindly keep cushion for the traffic delays. Should you reach early, don’t worry, we will be there to receive you.
We intend to follow strict time schedule and your help will go a long way in the success of the event. I am looking forward for your customary wholehearted participation this time as well.
We are looking forward to see you all at 5:00 PM on 5th November 2005. So many “5” and five fingers together make all of us strong.
I thank you all in advance for your participation. Should you need any help, kindly contact either of the organizing committee members.
