The Surajmal Centre for research and Publication, a department of the Memorial Education Society, C-$, Janakpuri, New Delhi 110058, Tel 011-91-2552667

Has been extremely active over the years in bringing out literature on the history of the Jats.

The contributions by Dr Birbal Singh and many others in the inception an growth phases need no retelling.

Recently Dr. Vir Singh has been instrumental in organizing a number of seminars on Jat History and culture by the centre.

These seminars are now becoming annual events.

A seminar was organized earlier this year, April/May 2005.

The number of papers and the speakers has shown a remarkable increase, and some excellent papers have been presented.

See below for a list

The E mail of the centre is msi@bol.net.in

Dr Vir Singh advised me a few months ago that the papers would be published in book form, and the book would be released around October November 2005, just about now.

Best regards
