On the very out set let me thank Sujata jiji and Shailendra Tokas bhai to have given calls to me at my place around 11.30 AM. It was indeed a wonderful gesture on the part of both these members to have said a few kind words of encouragement,while we were just getting together. My special thanx to Sujata jiji for giving this call in the middle of the night from US. These gestures by the above members have enhanced my faith in humanity and my resolve got strengthened for doing more good in future. Thank you both so much.


Now coming to the meet proper. In all 18 of us attended the meet. Keeping a very short notice in mind the above strength was good. It was indeed a wonderful experience to have shared the views of worthy members from diverse fields.Jats are doing really well, a belief hard to grasp.....was infact had to be trusted with ANKHON DEKHI....even if they are doing so in pockets, but they are there every where. It was also a personal pleasure for me as i was the host. Me and my wife might have been caught napping on some counts by our guests but we both are really happy that so many good people came to our house and frankly our happinees knows no bounds. Dear All,

It truly was a great start and a special one too. A true representation of real JATLAND. We had members from all the states where there is major presence of JATS. Rajasthan, Haryana, UP & Uttranchal. And lo and behold, a Malik from Orissa too.

The AIM was to just meet and get to know each other. And to be frank I was humbled by the kind of education credentials some of the attendees had. Aisa lage kuchh te jaroorat te jyada padh re thay!!!

And of course a telephone call from Sujata Ji & Shailender Tokas made the meet a truly international one.

I wish to thank Colonel Dev Dahiya, his wonderful wife and their lovely children. They went out of their way to look after each one of us personally. I am sure this 'Silsila' of Mumbai JAT Meet, let's call it M J M, would continue in the coming months. One more 'get to know each other meet' before the end of the year should be possible.

Though all JATS have a large heart but I believe we all should all share the burden of such meets by contributing towards expenses incurred. It is not the question of affordibility by individual members but the acceptance of the need to be equal contributors. I am sure we will not burden those who are students, not working and children. I am saying this because these things are normally not brought up. But then we are the JATS living in Mumbai... jo theek lage bolne ka... khali peeli bom nahi marne ka.

we had a lovely time at Mr. Dev's home. The food cooked by his wife and the love put in by him while serving made it a special meal. Mr. Jagmohan Malik's hilarious stories restored our faith in the Jat sense of Humour. The young Jats made the space electric. The collective wisdom of the elders encouraged us in our endeavours.
We left with the promise of meeting again in the near future.

As all of you know that we had a Mumbai Jat meet on 16/10/2005 at Dev Sir residence and it was a great start & grand success.
In continuation to that I want to take the opportunity to announce for the 2nd Mumbai Jat Meet on 18/12/2005( Sunday). We have choosen this date as Malik sir suggested to have one more meet before New Year and I think Baljit ji will also be in Mumbai at that time ( Am I right BaljitJi ? )

Me and my wife are honoured by hosting 2nd mumbai jat meet. We are thankful to all jat members who has given their blessing to us and attended the meeting. It was very nice to share some good moments & nice thougts with the fellow jat members. It make us feel that we are not away from our home & our family.

Dear Upen & Monika,

Thanks for getting us all together in a city like Mumbai. You both were really wondeful and had put in a lot of efforts, a little too much actually. The food was really wonderful.

But most importantly and note worthy was the free and frank exchange of views and the will to listen to other's view point. So many JATS together and no fights for about six hours is an achievement indeed.

I think we should wait a while before we plan to have the 3rd MJM. Also next time we should all contribute and share the expenses.

I propose a third Mumbai jats meet at Elephenta caves on 12 Feb 2006 [sunday]. It will be a farewell get together for Col Jagmohan sir [kind of] along with other exchanges of pleasentaries. We will share the expenditure of the meet proportionately, without bothering the non earning members/students[only those who are in a position to contribute]. Kindly pour in your suggestions/ inputs. Members from other chapters are welcome to join as guest and they will be treated as our MEHMAAN. I expect many more Jats,who are hidding in Mumbai to join us and share their thoughts and grace the occasion. It will be a good two way ride by the small ship from gateway of india to Caves location followed by meeting and hot food. We wish to transact something very important and Meaningful this time. Let the suspense be a suspense. All the best !

My seven years experience of this city is that it is easier to go to meet one's family in Meerut than to plan to meet a friend in Mumbai. Kuchh ne kuchh ola, solla atkya e rah se.

Bhai, mein to chalya chutti (15 May to 16 Jun). Chhore ne byah aaoon!!

Elphanta Caves ki trip jyada time consuming to nahin hoi jya gi? In any case Bhai, decide a date and announce it. Jo Gateway of India pahunch gya, le chaal lein ge. My suggestion is that iss baar sab apna khaan peen ka intejam khud karein to achha hai. Pot Luck. Pher sab mil baant ke do toook share kar leinge. Chhote bachhe jiske hain vo Paani ghar se lekar aaiyo bhai... The last time I visited these caves was in Dec 1974. I remember that day even the King of Bhutan was visiting the caves. He was just about 17 years then and coronated weeks before. There were no eating places then but may be now we have some place where we can also get food?
