another reason to be ashamed

This is really bad, shameful and disgusting. This is also a big problem in Jat community (I have heard of many men not finding a suitable bride in regions like Haryana).

For how long will this mass-murder go on? And this is one more proof that we Indians are the biggest hypocrits, on one hand women are revered as "devis" and on the other they are killed within the womb. I am ashamed of being an Indian due to this, and feel helpless.

Dear Amit, the issue in question has been discussed many a times on this site in past and the going ons have been condemned by one and all.The problem is more complexed in Haryana and Punjab, where Male to female ratio has a wide gap and unfortunately it is widening faster than we can imagine. The issue needs to be handled at both Govt. and social levels.Infact Girls are assumed to be a burdon on the family and as such this mindset needs to be changed by ruthlessand relentless social awakening. Task is real challenging and daunting.
