Some time I feel that present marriage instituion system is very undemocratic. How do you feel? Also down load and go through.

Not sure what you meant by "undemocratic" but I agree that this
whole marriage thing is very flawed and an undue hindrance to the
free human spirit. At the same time human society doesn't seem to
have found a good alternative when it comes to the issue of child rearing...
which is an inevitable issue whenever the subject of marriage comes up.

On a separate note I think it is a shame that nowadays most marriages
are taking place when the people involved are inching towards their 30s,
while at the same time society, especially Indian society, expects them
to be celibate. That is outrageous ! There is good reason that we humans
attain puberty at 12-13 years of age.

Ha...ha...ha. Katya rogg. Undemocratic......i think what Dr saheb meant was that girls before and after marriage have to bear the burnt of every thing which happens at her Peehar and Sasra respectively.....through out their life as they are made to behave as a captive audience. Am i right Dr saheb? Par bhai Raj teri theoram bhi katti itti-sidhhamm[QED] sei. Good logic applied here.

Yes Chacha, I sort of picked up on that based on the poem.
But then again such "undemocratic" burdens beared by the females
is again a side affect of "marriage"...which I'd argue is quite flawed.

There are a lot of angles here one can look at I guess.

Dev ji
thank you very much for your comments.
Exactly I wanted to say that present marriage system is undemocratic. It has a Patriarch family framework which is very much against the females. As such marriage as institution with a democratic content is the need of the day.

Devji
THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS
I MEANT THAT FEMALES ARE ON RECEIVING END IN THE PRESENT SYSTEM OF MARRIAGE WHICH IS IN pATRIARCH FRAME WORK. DEMOCRATIC MARRIAGE INSTITUTION IS THE DEMAND OF THE DAY.

We can start changing within the four or more walls of our homes. Treat your own wife democratically and educate your children to follow.

With education in the society at large, this will change, but gradually.

Incidently, Sweden is the freest country from women's point of view. Child rearing is the responsibility of the state if you want to discard the poor fellow. Marriage is not necessary and children outside wedlock are the norm. If a woman is not happy she can walk out of a livi-in relationship or marriage anytime she wants. But, cases of domestic voilence are not any less. Instead of wives, it is the girl friends that get thrashed.

i whole heartedly agree with wat u say...if every male does treat his wife properly and emphasizes on female education this problem can be solved to a certain extent but at the same time females should also be ready to take a step forward and speak against any injustice and such females should always also be encouraged and supported.

Ram Ram Jat Bhaio,

Marriage is an excellent institution and it has stood the test of time but the thing is dont get married like olden times i mean like without knowing the other one fully. actually it is the way by which you choose your best friend a person other than your parents who is going to stay with you in all circumstances

Bhaio aapne to itne he jankari hai is ke baare mein baaki byah ho jan pache bataunga
