Last night when I switched on my radio to listen the evening news, I was really shocked to saw that top news was related to salman hiran murder case and all important news were broadcasted after five minute lecture on it. Worst thing was that almost news papers are also saying the same story today in the front pages and news related to any happening of nation like pm speech in parliament and other were in inside pages. Where our media is going? Is salman is much important to the nation or it was the result of our mentality and interest? This issue has been discussed several times on this site and we all accused only media for this? Is it only media’s fault or are we (public) also responsible for that? Hardly there is any newspaper/ channel which tells real story without any hard felling. All most channel and newspaper seems typed with political parties and one can’t imagine for a fair broadcasting of news from this private companies (media) …

Well bhai Mukesh, It is noone's fault that Salman Khan got so much coverage, after all media shows what sells. The only problem that I find in India is in its diversity and classification of channels.
Here in west channels (especially News Channels) and other media have defined goals, and ideologies. Some channels or newspapers are right or left wing, some are just focused on celebs, some are domestic oriented and so on. Here you have a choice to see, read or hear what you want. There is a lot of grabage here too, the tabaloids here publish the most useless stuff (ranging from Alien sightings to Brittney Spears' shopping schedule) and hence they are called tabaloids. But every newspaper or TV channel does not cover such issues, every channel is supporting their own niche.
Whereas in India channels are like the thaali that one gets in a restaurant, they cover kind of news. So, you might end up seeing Salmaan Khan for the whole time on news channels.
