Parveen Bhai,
manne lage hai thodi galti ho gayi hai aapse (see entries at rank 11,14,19 etc). GDP is measured as nominal or PPP (purchasing power parity). Nominal GDP is the value of all final goods and services produced within a nation in a given year converted in dollars. PPP is a better indicator of living standards because it accounts relative effective domestic purchasing power of the average producer or consumer within an economy (common example given is that a haircut would cost much more in western countries than India and it would skew nominal GDP). The world bank's list of countries for nominal and PPP GDP is as follows (need to divide by population for per head)

GDP Nominal
1. US
2. Japan
3. Germany
4. UK
5. France
6. Italy
7. China
8. Spain
9. Canada
10. India

GDP PPP
1. US
2. China
3. Japan
4. India
5. Germany
6. UK
7. France
8. Italy
9. Brazil
10. Russia

Cheers,
Kismat
