Which Bollywood Personality Compares to a Hollywood Counterpart?

Alright seems like the flavor of the week/month is to write up a post and invite people to follow up on the thread: by asking them to add something as the next one in line and then the person after does the same, and so on and so forth!… Right?

So really, why mess with something that has caught the bored imagination of our esteemed members!?!…
But whoa, hold on….before we all become ‘lakeer kae fakeer’ and jump in immediately next to add to my 'story'/thread, why not make it a lil’ challenging and thought provoking too at the same time, and purely FUN (no serious business this, as usual)!?!

Here is what I propose: How about if we wracked our brains and came up with names of Bollywood actors and actresses who are the Hindi Cinema’s answer to their Hollywood counterparts!?! Actors and Actresses that remind of you someone in Hollywood (or vice-versa) for their roles/image/persona etc. …???
I know, I know; this means we have to have some passing knowledge of all (or some at least) of Hollywood’s artist’s. Ok, so fine, we will just work with that handicap……………. [but then think of that Hollywood movie you saw last and could not help but think of that Bollywood personality that you KNEW would have fitted that role/style so well! Come on, it's quite simple, in fact our Director/Producers are doing this all the time! ;) and copying pasting that Movie in Hindi right away! So so can we, at least here...on paper!?!]

So here goes: for example….

# Imraan Hashmi could easily be Bollywood’s answer to bad boy Colin Farrell (and people, I am not talking about Imraan’s kissing escapades! Just the image he projects on screen and the roles)
# Nana Patekar could be our Hindi counterpart easily for Denzel Washington! (I think!)
# Naseerudin Shah could give Robin Williams a run for his money, right?
# I think Bipasha Basu could quite compare to Angelina Jolie?

Alrighty people, we are on… wrack your brains a lil’ and add on…(By the way, just because someone mentioned an actor’s/actresses name and compared him/her to someone, would not mean that the name cannot be repeated and that there couldn’t be a better comparison by you….so go right ahead and suggest your version!)

Hmmm...that's right, it can get you all twisted up, doesn't it?...
But some good ones, I agree: Now see how some input can get you thinking on your own versions,? Well, here goes..........
Here is what some of yours got me thinking....I would say that Amitabh Bachchan could be very easily compared to this other Hollywood great, simply on the basis of what versatile actors both are: Al Pacino!

But then when I read your third comparison I could think no one else; but really for me Tom Hanks could only mean one person- Aamir Khan!!!

I dont know if they are answers to their counterparts, but I find some connections here.

Amitabh Bachchan- he is the biggest copycat of Al Pacino in this world, he has copied Pacino's style, demeanor in numerous films (dont believe me, go watch Scarface).
Amir Khan- another copycat, he even went till the extent of remking films of Tom Hanks, but as a good actor he gives it his own touch and originality.
Sridevi-watch any movie of Goldie Hawn and you will see what I mean, but in her case I find her a better actress than Goldie Hawn.
Rekha and Michelle Pfeifer they might not look alike, but their voices are indistinguishable, and off course both are very hot.
Shammi Kapoor attempted to be Elvis Presley, and he did a better job than his bro Raj Kapoor who is the worst Charlie Chaplin impersonator in history.
Nargis can be called Indian Katherine Hepburn
Urmila Matondkar reminds me of Winona Ryder

...Whoa, pretty impressive, people! What a list... I think I stand vindicated when I say that we all do have images/ideas of which Hindi Cinema character could play this or that role every time we go see a Hollywood flick!!!

It is turning to be a very interesting read from all of you! (It was hilarious reading some of the comparison reasons!) Good work…

Priti, I hate to say this but on the just-for-kicks ‘Brokeback Mountain’ deal…couldn't think of anyone else than maybe Uday Chopra along with Jimmy Shergill!:D [and if some of you watched the Filmfare awards nite a couple of years back with ShahRukh and Saif gaily horsing around on a spoof of 'Kal Ho Na Ho'; even those two could quite be that A-grade actor couple to play the Bollywood version!] Not to mention followed by some burning of all the theatres screening that movie (how’s ‘Tabadd-Todd Teeba’ for a title?) by the Shiv Sena activists!!! ;)
