Vikas Rathee ney 4 tey bata e diye. Baaki mey try karta hoon.

Andhrak : Koi mehmaan jab achanak aa jaye to kahte hain: Andhrak aa-gya.
Kuss - Long Iron rod, sharp on one side, placed in a 'hall'
Beejjakdda : Beejhe moonh wala ? Waise Kisan jis bag mein beej rakhta hai (hall chalate huye) uss-ko hamari taraf "Beejondhi" kahte hain. Ho sakta hai ye "Beejjakdda" bhi wahi ho - kissey ilaake mein.

Manney apni thread The treasure of ‘desi’ words (http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=12202) mey likha hai: Kos-kos pey vaanni badley, dangh-dangh pey paani. Hamare yahan "Joon" ka matlab hai : Gehoon ki pooli ko Bandhna (Aalle gehoon ke podhe se). Mhare paddosi gaam ki seem mey laamnni ho-thi. Unko ek mhare gaam aale ney kah diya : "Arey tam joon theek dhall kyoon na baandhte?" Woh gussa ho-key bolya : "Dhakhe rey, eib paache 'Joon' mat kah diye nah tey khoon-kharaaba ho-jyaaga : yoh tey mhara gaut se. Haam isney 'bandhej' kahya karaan".

Dev ji, Aap ney thodda gap de-diya tha. Yoh word "Gaddangg" mey dictionary mein add kar chuka hoon.

Handdor - Kati theek - Rathi ki explanation
Palua - .... - do ---
Kolli - to grip someone " Pahalwaan ney paachhe tein kolli bhar li"
Dobhal - an unproductive petty job in field etc.
Gaddchamm - I have explained word 'Girrggam" in Dictionary - in the same way as Rathi has written. However, Gaddchamm may either be the same or some other word which I do not know.
Tandeera Rathi may be right - but I do not this word
Lammaan : The bottom portion of Ghaghri (this also reflects in my dictionary - if it is wrong, please point out for necessary corrections)
Khapparbharni : Both Rathi and Sunita are correct. I have explained the word "Khapparbharna" in dictionary.
Tardaa : Yes, Doodh ka Tardaa. Paani ke upper se girne ko bhi tardaa kahte hein.
Nei : Nayee mheinss or something else ?

Dev sir, one suggestion, if you use Devnagri script, it would be more closer in pronounciation. May be you can get the Devnagri editor from Sh. Ranbir Singh Dahiya....Which he uses for many of his posts.

Thanks Dalal saheb...i will try devise something shortly.....Yup it will be better to do it that way.

KHAPPARBHARNNI: This means nass karnni....Khappar means PAWAADDA pathhna...jis te ghar ka satyanass hotta ho.It is generally used when a lady fights relentlessly on small things without seeing reason and without listening to any one....this sometimes has lead to some unforseen circumstances...like sucide by the OBJECT of that lady......This lead to popular use of this word for ladies exclusive.......For counterparts the word is KHAPPARBHARNNA/NASSKARNNA.

NEI: Hokke ki Tube peettal ki....jiss ke chippat ke tau hokke ke rangg liya karre.Ha..ha..ha.

DOBBHAL: Bhai it is not what Vikas has written/meant.....That is BHODDAL....Dobbhal means ASMANJJAS.....DOUBT.....CONFUSION.

KOLLI: Deswal saheb jo aap nei batai wa ho sei kollee...arr ya sei KoLLI....a small wooden bracket with a slot in the centre....Generally used with the both ends of rope used for churnning milk manually....samajh mei aai ak nahin?

Regarding the words given by Deswal ji....i have been prohibited by him and hence will wait for other members to take a shot at it.

Kati samajh gaye ji. English spelling ke kaarann ye confusion ho gaya. Per koye baat na! Waise 'KoLLI' ko nezzu (kuuyen se paani kheenchann ki rassi) ke kinare par bhi lagaya jata hai. Ek "Gadchham" rah gaya - usko bhi explain kar do.

Nobody tried? OK - no need now. I was just trying to test how many of you go to 'Haryanavi Dictionary' Page. All these words were already added by me in dictionary - visit the page for meanings.

The full version of Haryanavi Dictionary is now available at the following link:
