I have an idea. All working ppl can prepare a list where they are working. company and stuff. so if someone needs the info he can directly contact the person.
Like one person is shifting job or one needs to apply in some company the person can find out whom to ask.
What say?

yeh sau baar discuss ho chuka hai...every one agrees....uske baad sub thande pad jate hain.
Those who are interested in sharing the info, they have given their details in their profile. Others want to share the info on need to know basis only.
If u need any help just put the request up here and those interested will reply.
Who have job openings are posting the openings here.
This may not be an efficient way, but so far it seems to be working fine.

Well, I take the ownership for this.
finding the information from profile is pretty tough. either we can use a database where we all can put the information or we can collect all the inforamtion thru mail and then we'll put it in the site.
We need Nitin's help for that.

We can do one thing just put ur brief profile here and then one(Manish Tomar...) can compile the list and can be put in central data base where can we all access.

Bhagirath, Ur suggestion is good.
But the information is already in ur profile, so why another db? For now what we can do is make the members search smarter to capture occupation field too.
If ppl are ready to share more info, then only we need a resume center or something similar to matrimonial section here.

It'd be better to keep it a central place than in respective profiles and anyway it wont do any harm if we have this.

Such information really belongs in the profile. Looking in the profile is not very difficult. Also people can use the search feature to find people of similar interest and in interested geography.

It is just that we have to encourage people to put the information in the profile and enhance the search feature if needed.

Maintaining a central databse is difficult. Very soon it will be out of date because people will not bother to tell that the information has changed.

Just my opinion.
