Dear friends, ram ram, Sunita G spl thanks to you for opening this thread.

Positive Aspect:
1. Development in both Villages and Town.
2. Better financial positions of both people in villages and towns.
4. New areas of Employment.

Negative Aspects:
1. Killing Indian spirit at large and at local ends, killing indian culture in both villages and cities.
2. Crime rate is also growing rapidaly for which in one way mordrenisation is responsible.
3. Low male female ratio is also brain child of this only, as Ultra Sound machine plays vital role in it.

actually ye bada he comlicated issue kyonki being modern and being traditional ki koi guidelines nahi he.maine te itna bera se jab hum balak the er koi aunti baala ki cutting kara le thi te hum usne modern kaha kara the.
seriously to me being modern is being educated and to have brains to differentate between right and wrong.moderaninsm should not be at all related to clothes or how u look and what u do.because thats what we call BHED CHAAL.

jato mein modern woh log hain jinke kunbe tut ke chote chote parivar reh gaye hain jo aaj apne maa bap ke saath baithne mein sharam mehsoos karte hain jo aaj gher mein ekathe hone ki bajaye apne kamre mein TV dekhna pasand karte hain. jinko saag dekh ke ghin si aati hai Mere hisab se woh sabhi log modern hain

In my point of views Modernism is not the looks and deeds only instead it's our point of view towards life and society.

Modernism is derived from the word moderate and being moderate is the real definiton of Modernism. The actual mean of modernism is that one should be moderate about his/her ideas, behaviour and attitude towards others.

Modernism is the name of listening, understanding and accepting of one another's point of views leaving behind personal and traditional approach and ideas.

Modernism, actually is to understand the world in a neutral way of thinking and try to accept the developments honestly without sticking to traditional believes. Being familiar with latest trends, latest technology, latest happenings and developments in every sector and having knowledge of all the good and bad things in the society is the real modernism.

Modernism, for a person, is that he/she should still having a good character and try to maintain a step by step tunings with the changing society and values.

In India esp in rural societies the Word has been used in Negative sense.
but after looking at the meaning in the dictionary, it was exactly what I thought it was.

TRUE MEANING of MODERNISM as per Oxford Dictionary: Modern ideas or methods....specially in Art. If we eleborate further it means: Of present and recent times,In current fashion,Not antiquated,Person living WITH present times,Latest trends and Happenigs.

To Modrenize: Adapt to modern needs or habits or trends.....or adopt latest Ways and views.

To me MODERNISM is not wearing Ultra small dresses or going to Pub/Discos/Bars and roam around drunk at late night. To me Modernism is not JUST BEING EDUCATED....as we know we get Degrees to fulfill our basic requirements of....ROTI/KAPDA/MAKAAN....means Luxuries. Many people who are Educated but have very narrow mind to see things in right/different perspective, many Uneducated man/woman have a better and BROADMIND than we Educated people dont have. Methinks Modernism is a FREE state of mind of not Interfering into others so called Modernism. it is to adopt new IDEAS and do things that seems setting and matching with others point of view too. APART FROM ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY MODERNISM.... It is to keep your space and give space to let other's ideas flourish in same way. Modernism is CONSECUTIVE it is not in its stationary or cocrete form that can not be changed. MOdernism to me is an EXTRAVERSION OF OUR STATE OF MIND.
