Here is a question which is striking my mind from last few days. Why the girls hide their identity.?. Even on Jatland where all of us are from same community & almost same culture & traditions. Noone wants to disclose her identity. I don't understand why girls are pretending to be strong , independent... The fact is .they are still scared of this man's world & don't feel secure here.....isn't it????

I am totally agree with Jagmohan Sir. It's totally depends on one's comfort that how much she wants to disclose about her...no one should force her about that & posting the photograph or giving the mobile no in the profile is not the indication of braveness or strength....every girl should be cautious about all that...that's it...

...Ok, so this is a question often asked all over the world and is an issue often wrestled with around the globe! (yeah, you better believe it; it's not just a Desi or a Jatland thing as per say!)...and so while just like with a lot of things in this world where nothing has ever changed since time immemorial, this is also one of those things that are contributed more towards how nature (God) has made human beings, animals etc.

The female gender of any race, or even type for that matter (birds, insects, mammals) is the weaker of the two (and I am talking about the physical attributes here)....which then I guess then leads to more direct implications where they are at a slight disadvantage at other interactive platforms when it comes to the opposite sex (Male).........

Have their been efforts to change that un-equality? Yes, at least in the human race and it is a fact that governments, nations, companies etc etc. have done their best to create an equal platform and just on humanitarian grounds!
But will that ever completely eradicate the differences? Probably not, because that is just the nature of this beast (the underlying question of the thread).......................

Now that you have been patient and read thru my already well talked about and also quite a well understood and popular tirade over the centuries....let's come back to this identity and the Private Messaging (PM) issues!

Everyone is entitled to hide their true identity, and actually even some of the guys prefer that as is obvious here on jatland, so why such a surprise that largely out of the two it’s the women that are more secretive about it?
I think (like most) that this internet is such a grand tool for humankind ever and while if you are not part of it, you snooze and you lose, BUT having said that; anyone (man or woman) have to be very-very careful how and what they disclose here for the world to see!!!...... [and so hardly think that it should be equated in the terms of whether if it is a male or a female security issue! It just applies to everyone across the board, period!]

Now on the PM issue: Female members who are getting upset and frustrated with the ‘pm’ from clueless losers, can very easily opt for the easy option of blocking them out (If it means wasting some time, sure...but then nothing in life is gonna be to everyone’s total satisfaction now, is it?)...Why sound so defensive, disadvantaged and almost critical to the point of damning the whole male-kind? Are you not this way just forwarding the notion that females are the weaker of the two, with how they react to situations?... Now, now…before you jump on me, my dear female members, here are my two lowly cents:

Face it like bold individuals and push back against the box (get out of that mentality) you know, this may sound like news; but really even we guys deal it with too, albiet in a different way…(yeah not the 'prvt msgs', thank god for small mercies, it’s not become ‘Brokeback Jatland’ here yet!:D )… but you must have seen discussions here turn ugly all the time, with idiots jumping in trying to prove a point where this is none and then tons of posts and energies are wasted to settle the matter down, with even some other members inadvertently jumping in and so on and so forth!... but then should we start lamenting on why those individuals are posting this or that? Or why are they even there commenting on something they don’t even know the first thing about? Or start a thread and ask things like,’why do they write nonsense? (or send unwanted and un-invited PM’s, like the some members are demanding)?... That would achieve absolutely nothing!

No! You deal with it and move on!......... That is the way of life, you don't demand equality, similar respect by asking for it, BUT wrestle it (not by poking the guy in the eye) but thru stronger, bolder actions and superior ideals/morals!
A rotten apple spoils the whole cart, and so would there be perverts, psychos, and losers everywhere! This medium of the internet (hiding behind the computer screen) spills forth even the ones that are inside a cloak!...You can do nothing about those, specially since they probably can't even stutter in a one-o-one face to face encounter! They gain confidence and false bluster in the privacy of their computer desk!

So move on and let them wallow in their sorry life, wasting so much time and energy on such issues is not even worth it!

First of all good thread.

In my opinion, we Jats are still in development stage and females in our society still have restrictions and they still get the teachings from elders and parents that they are the reputation and respect of the family. So they always try to behave very formal and conservative. Femeles who feels proud of their family don't try to invole themselves in any controversial things and discussions.

Infact, they are not hiding their identity but they are respecting the feelings of their parents and elders and they are sacrificing their personal freedom for the family values and respect ( IZZAT what u say) and that should be appriciated in any manner.

Apologies for the accused crypticness of the message....but I really didnt mean anything else then what I wrote, all I wanted to say was that we have so many male members without photos on this site. And somehow I felt that we should be asking them to reveal their identities before we get on to girls.

And coming to girls, well I think that they do not hide their identities out of fear or something and all, instead I think that they avoid revealing their identities just to get away from silly PMs and all. Believe it or not but some members have done given enough reasons to girls to hide their identities.....

And coming to girls, well I think that they do not hide their identities out of fear or something and all, instead I think that they avoid revealing their identities just to get away from silly PMs and all.
