Ah man............anyways, yes seen the movie (a couple of times actually) it is based on true life events of two outlaws (Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid)...who robbed many a banks before being cornered and shot down.

I don't think 'Sholay' (hold on......gotta get off the chair and bow down in reverence to this movie before I can continue! ;) ) I don't think 'Sholay' is actually directly inspired by this one [though it borrows heavily on a lot many spaghetti westerns, no doubt!...]
Either way: While this Hollywood movie is definitely good, 'Sholay' is greater!....and so let's leave it at that! (You see, If the former is a good western then Sholay created a genre of it's own in Hindi cinema and inspired many others! Plus it never tried to pretended that it is some bollywood version of a western; it had very desi-daku vibes to it and other very much relevant Hindi movie issues...... that's why it is great!].....

yeah thats what I thot....what on earth today inspired Mr Rana to come up with the idea of comparing this gr8 western flick with SHOLAY which was a gr8 movie in itself though much inspirsed by 1960 "The magnificant seven"(Mr Yul Brynner).....any way.....reminds me of the song...RAIN DROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD by Bj Thomas when APNA CASSIDY bhai(NEWMAN saab) gives a ride on the bicycle to SUNDANSA bhai(REDFORD saab) ki Gurl frin....;) and then the saand charges them away....hahahhahaha killkiii.....one of the best al time western movies......

bhai rana saab lekin aap nyu to batao ki AAP ko SHOLAY or is western pitchcure mein kya same laga except for the paid poddhe.......hahahahaha@pitchcure....:p :p :p :D :D :D

I have seen Butch Cassidy and the Sindance Kid ...three times .. but teh last time was 8 years ago on Star Movies .... in India

definately a great movie .. but different from Sholay except the brotherhood of the two owtlays

no in my humble opinion .. Sholay is not based on this movie
