World Cup…. Begani Saadi Mein Abdullah Deewana!!

Bharat ke Kuchh rajyno mein Soccer ki Deewangi ka Aalam Dekhaiye,
First it was a town in West Bengal that a town was divided in supporters of Brazil , Germany and Argentina. Whole town was flooded with German and Brazilian Flags.
Today I was watching a news clip showing supporters performing ‘yajya’ and praying for the success of Brazilian Team.

I have not seen this type of prayers for any of the Indian team competing the International competitions. In spite of so much of interest in Soccer, Indian soccer is no where at the international scene.

Small countries like Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Ecuador etc. are give good fight to the big guns in the World cup. It is a pity that a country with more than a billion people has no participation but singing in the praise of others, behaving like “ Begaani saadi mein Abdullah deewana”

Why we are not able to raise a soccer team of international standards?
Do we lack physical strength?
Can’t we provide facilities?

Ha Ha Ha...Bilkul Theek

India is overwhelmed by Cricket thats the reason no other sports gets a chance.

Its all about where the money is coming from but noone is ready to make the investment in anything other than cricket.

If you look at any other sports where Indians are doing well its all due to Individual efforts.

Govt is not interested, thats all.

Bhai Deshwal...baat aisi hai..koi maney ya na maney..soccer world cup is world's biggest sporting event and India is nowhere in the scene in this event. Jab saari duniya ka dhayan germany par hai aaj kal...and indians are feeling isolated. To be a part of the stream, they have to get involved somehow. Koi Brazil ko support kar raha hai...koi germany ko. Apne ghar se to koi gya nahin..doosron ko dekh kar gujara chalana padega.

Govt. know that soccer fans are increasing day by day but they just close eyes when it comes to funds and facilities. Aap ko yaad hoga..Apne Chautala ne bhee 1 crore ka inaam rakha thaa jo koi bhee olympic mein gold medal jeetega...Usne yeh nahin socha ki gold medal koi ped(tree) par nahin lagtey..ki tod lao.. Gvot had to promote sports, build infrastructure, encourage sports person by facilities and career choice, recruit efficient coach and many other things..Gold medal jeetney ke baad to koi bhee inaam de dega...lekin gold medal milega kaise?

Isliye..cricket kheley jao...aur mauj lo!

सर जी बात ये नही है ............ बात है िक लोग जीतने िदवाने Cricket के है उतने ही Soccer के भी है ...... बात India के खेलने की या ना खेलने की नही है ......
इस से साफ छलकता है िक Indians are fair to their feelings. They always express what they feel. Doesn't matter who is playing.
That’s the different thing, one supports one team and one supports other.
मै खुद Soccer Player हुँ and playing Soccer since 6th class and regularly participating in different State Level Soccer competitions and played All India Interuniversity 3 times from my present university and once played Interuniversity from Kurukshetra University.
So, it’s the LOVE towards Soccer that bounds me to FIFA World Cup and following BRAZIL (all time favorite).

I think it's same with others that they love this game.

Agree with what you say Lalit and nice to know that you are not only a soccer fan but a player too.

What do you think that India is not part of this one of the Biggest sporting event of the world? What in your opinion are the facters responsible for India's absence from this 'Mahayudh of sports'?

You are absolutely right Navin Bhai, Medal jeetne ke baad to koi bhi Sarkar ya gair sarkaari sanstha Inaaam de degi, par asali baat hai, 'to spend money on infrastructure and training'.

AAsha hi kar sakte hein ki kabhi to Govts., Baggi ke peechhe katda jodne ki privarti mein parivartan ki sauch layegi.I mean desist from making popular anouncements only but do something at the ground level.

cheers!

I played soccer all my student life but pretty much never after...as a matter of fact I have played with Baichung Butia too...but soccer in India doesn't pay the bills....
Everybody has right to be soccer world cup fan regardless India makes it to the world cup or not.

I guess Mr Deshwal was a bit too hard on the soccer players and fans of India...

The population densitly... throat-cut competition for jobs.. low respect for sportsmen ... expectations n pressure from parents... low facilities and small sport budget of the Govts (coz sportsmen are too few to upset their vote politics!)

All this sum up to our poor showing.. There is nothing wrong in our genetics ;) !!

The level of committment and the confidence level is low because of insecurity ... hence the poor performance!
