Economically up socialy down Haryana-Why

Dear All
In economic development Haryana is on top but the social indicators are very poor eg 0-6 sex ratio. Please comment.

If we see at grass root level I think illiteracy or better say illiterate mentality. I consider even an IAS officer illiterate if he plans for a third child just because first two children are girls.

and espically in our villages mostly ladies discourage the birth of girl child not gents. moreover, ladies feel sorry on the birth of girl child.

so education for girls is most important... well ek padhi-lekhi ladki se doo gharon ka bhala hota hai

May be its nature's way of controlling the increasing number of Haryanvis. I guess its nicer when special things remain special instead of becoming common place. :)

On a serious note increasing economic development with declining or stagnant economic conditions indicate that Haryana and not Haryanvis are developing. Non-Haryanvis are the ones behind developing Haryana. Due to its highly economically valuable position Haryana is so much action economically, whereas Haryanvis dont present themselves as a valuable human resource which can explored and utilised, hence they are ignored. Worst truth is that Haryanvis dont seem to be doing much about this made evident by various social indicators. This situation is not a new one, such has happened and happens in many places for example in North America, economic development has been extremely high whereas the natives of this land are doing worst than not only Haryanvis but almost everyone in this world.

I personally dont feel that passing out exams and taking degrees means Education until that education is used to bear a positive attitude and change the reserved mind-sets(especially of jats) Also the girls must be allowed to take some minor/few major decisions of their life on their own that means girls and even married ladies are just handed over reponsibilities with NO AUTHORITY and they keep lacking confidence. Though people claim that situation is changing but in How many families? This social set up cant be changed until we give equal space to girls even though after securing our own. We talk of equality but it lies only in lectures not on real grounds. To have a betterment in socio change we need to change our perpective

Economically up because of dilligent nature.
Socially down, perhaps due to fundamentalism in the society.
