Dear Friends,
After moving over to India the first thing which is upsetting me the most is the lack of electricity and its effects on rural education. There is hardly any electricity and most boys find it extremely hard to pursue their studies as they cannot revise their class work and do home work in this heat and humidity of summer. Issue is really serious and affecting our children adversely. Most villages in western UP get electricity for hardly 4-5 hours every day and that too at any time. One can never be sure of power during evening hours when most boys study and do their homework. I see no hope unless we act as soon as possible and force authorities to ensure regular power every evening at least for 5 hours so that our children can study.

Dear Rajenderji,
You have raised a very importent issue concerning our young students in rural areas. In addition to what authoroties can do to improve the power supply in rural areas, alternate sources like subsidised solar panels, ups/inverter etc. should be explored. There should be families who can afford these facilities but lack the awareness and initiative. Also a cooperative approach can be innitiated. I mean a group of students pool their resources to install these equipments.
It was good to see you at work immidiately after arriving home. I wish you all the success in your future plans.
Cheers!

Deshwal Sahab,
Even most poor person wants that his child should study and do well in life. Our government talks big on education without realising the basic difficulties being faced by students. Effects of poor electrich supply are different on different things. However, its effect is disasterous on education. Educational activities extend far beyond the boundaries of scool classrooms. Our students can't ever prepare properly before examinations. How can rural kids compete with urban kids under such conditions. I am very keen to mobilse kids, paranets and teachers all to confront government to take this issue seriously, else our present and future generations are doomed.

Presently india is facing power deficit so there are power cuts especially prolonged in rural ares as these areas are never given priority. It is govts responsibility as well ours. we need to generate more energy and use it judiciously. our part arrives at avoiding misuse. people dunn even bother to switch off lights even when there is no need. this situation os more prevalent where there is power theft so its we people who r partly responsible for this as with every problem in india.

You mean our rural boys and girls will have to wait for light till India produces enough electricity and power thefts stop all over India ?

no i didnt mean exactly that...but logic says that everybody will get uninterrupted power only wen enough energy is produced otherwise how can it be possible:confused: ...well solar energy is one option we can depend on ..our govt n panchayats should do something to make it a reality and to use this make up the energy deficit

I won't bother about uninterruped power supply till all our students get electric power at leaset every day from 6-11 PM and then 5-7 AM so that they can study. Future of nation is at stake as far as this is concerned. Everything else is secondary.
