i haven't been able to comprehand the logic of jat joke or non-jat joke

Joke is joke and only condition should b that it shoul't contain words or phrases which is tantamount to be insult to a particular person or community.

In our rural society the relationship amongst the castes like khati,luhar,nai jat and chamar is that of mutual respect. Humor always cross the cast barriers.

Now-a -days the inter-dependency among the caste has eclipsed due to the mechanisation of Agriculture. Otherwise, khatis had a good status in the rural societies and making jokes about khatis, chamar, luhar was very common. The other caste people making jokes of jats was and is very common.

We used to tease our neighbour khati by narrating:
"khati cheeda, beel mein badya,
Marya dalla, likad padya"

Aur tau GYANI KHATI( the old carpenter), would chase us with 'Basolla" in his hand.

Lekin ekadh ghante baad pher 'Biti'(gulli) banwane chale jate.

I am not agree with your logic at all, aap kehte hai ki bareekion mein gusne ki bajay, enjoy the joke, then why so many good jokes locked just because of non jat jokes, why don't you people enjoyed those jokes.

Dear Ajay,

Essence of my post was supposed to be as the sentiments expressed by you.

My contention was that, my that majority of the times it would be hard to write a joke on rural situations without making any mention of other casts. All the casts are part and parcel of rural life. I am also against such restrictions. So please also read my first line. I am still not aware of distinctions made about jokes on cast lines. Of-course, i have heard people saying 'Hryanavi jokes,
Rajasthani Jokes, aur Paar( westren up) ke joke etc.

So, I would like the Admin as well as moderators to give a thought and revise the guidelines.

How can be a pure desi joke which I have heard from an illiterate Tau’s mouth be termed as ‘Non-Jat’ ? Just because the words ‘Jat’ or ‘Tau’ etc. are not written in it? Frankly, I feel Mr. Verma’s expression seems to be part of a personal vendetta against Moderators since his joke (Doctor's poem (http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15771) ) posted by him on 4 July 2006 was locked by Satyeshwar, and also the growing tendency among some members who have developed a habit of calling Moderators as ‘biased’.

I also feel that renaming ‘Non-Jat’ term is not required. If you give it some other name (like Haryanavi Jokes, Dehati Jokes etc.), even then one may find some other excuse by posting a Santa-Banta joke and justifying it a joke from a village in Punjab and hence ‘Dehati Joke’. Satyepal Deswal ji is right when he says that “it would be hard to write a joke on rural situations without making any mention of other castes”. (Please do not term me ‘biased’ on this point since I am consenting the views of another ‘Deswal’).

You are all the best judges on distinguishing between a ‘Jat joke” and a “non’Jat” one and most (if not all) of us know what is the definition of the term ‘Non-Jat’.

Mere dil main apke liye bahut respect hai not just because of a moderator but you are like my elder brother, magar ye jaruri to nahin ki ham har bat par ek hi rai (openion) rehte hon.

Please do not take it personal, every body here at jatland know that so many jokes have been closed just because of non jat joke, I do agree that is it a pure dehati joke but not a Jat joke.

Ye jatland mere jaydad nahin hai deswal sahab, if you don't agreet with my point or don't like that everyone should share his/her viewpoint, you can simply ban me or I will leave jatland. But rule is rule, don't take it personal.

First of all you are trying hide your identity (that my be violating rules of Jatland, moderator can decide better) by pasting such type of photograph that does not clear your identity.

Secondly you think that every joke pertains to Dehat (our roots) is Jat Joke whether it is on Nai, Dhobi, Kumhar, Chamar, I m sorry my dear but that can't be a Jat Joke.

Dr. Kalkhande Sahab also indicate that it is a Non Jat Joke but no attention given on that, refer # 4 post of this thread on 1 page.

वैसे यह भी कमाल की ही बात है । Humor के साथ-साथ एक और बात सामने आई है । मैने इस फोरम में पहले भी बहुत से jokes लिखे हैं पर इतने थोड़े समय में इतनी readership कभी नहीं हुई । इस समय मेरे इस चुटकुले के 'views' की तायदाद मेरे पिछले (jokes) धागों में सबसे ज्यादा है (1-2 को छोडकर) - चाहे खुद check कर लो । इसका एक कारण है - यह एक अनपढ़ ताऊ के मुंह से मैने खुद सुना है और लिख दिया है । इससे बड़ा सबूत और क्या हो सकता है इसके देसी या 'Jat joke' होने का ?


वर्मा भाई साहब को पता नहीं क्या हो गया है ! (RK जी तो सिर्फ 'kidding' कर रहे हैं !) । अगर 'औरतें' शब्द के स्थान पर 'जाटणियां' लिख दिया जाता तो क्या इस पर 'Jat Joke' होने का ठप्पा लग जाता ? अब 'Jat Joke' के बारे में definition देने के लिये क्या इस जाटलैंड पर कोई संविधान लिखना पड़ेगा ? हम सब लोग एक ही संस्कृति के हैं और हमें इसका मतलब भी अच्छी तरह पता है ।
