Well I donot get the opportunity to watch Hindi movies but I recently got the chance to see this movie - "Khosla Ka Ghosla"
And if you have seen the movie you would have noticed that the phalwan's name was Joginder Jat (or something like that) and the strong man who worked for the Punjabi Businessman and who was guarding the illegelly occupied land also had a very strong Haryanvi/Delhi Jat accent.
This was a clear evidence of prejudice other people have for Jats and what image they have in mind when they think of Jats.
Though true to a certain extent I still consider it as a misrepresentation of Jats and a bit of an insulting representaion of Jats.

I completely agree with u Kharub Ji here. I av watched this movie.
-> I think Jats themselves have played a big role in making this kind of image, of community, in the society. Lots of Jats still luv to flaunt harshness, tuffness in publik, considering it as power, strength
-> I dont go for generalisations lyk Punjabis r alwz cheats n baniyas kanjoos :D it depends on a person not community (i av friends of almost all the communities)
-> Please anybody dont mind, acc to me its an ESCAPE. We cant prove ourself by putting someone down.
And vaise bhi lots of Jats are Land Mafias :D
-> 1 more reason, i think we Jats dont try much to change this image (who have realised) Praveen Dabas worked in this movie, but i dont think usne kuch kaha hoga.
-> Satyeshwar Ji, we wud av believed. As these kind of Gundagardies do happen in other parts of India n World.
When its about showing bodies in contests lyk Mr India, Body building competetions, who bothers to give more points to Jats.
Above are my personal views plz dont take personally.

Dear vikas for ur info nowdays there are too many jats who r playing real life role of bomman irani in delhi, haryana n U.P. :(

Hey don't be so touchy about it, dont we all laught at all the sardarji jokes and at the depiction of sardars in the silliest way in the movies etc.
Well the general idea which comes about jats is Rough and Tough, so is shown in the movie; and as you said, its somewhat true also, so why bother !
If it were the main character shown as Jat and meanly, definitely it would have revoked protest from jats.
Hope you would have enjoyed the movie otherwise, it was a very good Tit for Tat example.

It was a really good work of cinema ....... and a very nice easy movie without any sleaze or masala ........ It was no doubt a good movie .....
And yes it is quite true that Jats are the strongmen and the pahalwans ... but they should have used the accent no doubt ....... but should not have named the guy Balbir Jat ...... that could have been avoided .....
There are a lot of Gujjars & Yadavs too who are doing this stuff in and around Delhi ... but why the guy gets named Jat ......
I know it was nothing serious ... but still something to think about ...
Why not Gujjar or Yadav .... or why not just Balbir ... why Balbir Jat ??

Kharub Bhai,
I don't think the image of Jats as pahalwan or rough-tough guys is a problem. Rather that image only has given a unique identity to Jats which we are proud of. Padhe-likhe jaton se bhi koi jaldi panga nahi leta coz they know ki jat ka dimaag ghoom gaya to latth marega ;)
As for depiction of Jat as the goon guarding the property in the movie, I don't think we should raise a question there too. Wouldn't a punjabi then ask why a person from their community was shown to be a corrupt land grabber when there are lots of jats, gujjars and folks from other communities too doing similar stuff. Jats image is still better than Punjabis and baniyas who are told as dogle and kanjoos even though everyone is not same. If we are questioning a depiction of a Jat as a pahalwan goon, we are morally bound not to ask filmmakers to show a gujjar or punjabi in that role. A person's nature or social character doesn't depend on his caste but his upbringing. We need to improve the upbringing of our future generations so that they do something good for the society rather than working as land mafias or sadakchhap goondas. Same is the case with people of other communities. Every baniya and punjabi is not kanjoos and dogla. So, lets respect all and talk about improving India as a whole.

Is it about area with Jat population or any community ? Just prepare yourself to be get used to recognize and accept the real facts. Punjab is far better than Haryana regarding the espects you mentioned except Jat population. But yes Haryana have dense and %age wise best for Jats. But for yout kind info Rajasthan have the more Jat population than Haryana.

Sardars are primarially divided in into 3 divisions
1. jatt Sikhs - they are more or less like us, supposedly the cream of sardar race, they normally dont tei a turbon in rural areas and mostly u will find them a yellow / blue cloth tied on their forehead, also many of them also have short hairs, i also have inputs that even marriges take place between jatt sikhs and jats in parts nearing punjab n haryana, i have so many jatt sikh friends and even visit their family and i have allways been treated as a family / community member, also one would find lacs of jats claming dharmender ji to be a JAT, ppl he is also a jatt sikh ... for info.
2. ramgharihas - this is the 2nd in order sardar community
2. Bhappa Sikhs - no doubts most vlunerable, u normally find them as refugees in delhi, amritsar is full of them and a community which largely belonged to lahore regeion, it is these sardars and bhappa punjabis who are supposedly famous for their cunningness. even the other 2 communities of sardars dont carry very gud impression for them.

Sukrama Ji, if you had read my post carefully i didn't called anybody stupid by any means. But yes thinking maybe be stupid. If a person doesn't know anything about any community and even after that tries to impose his own perception and not even ready to know about them but stick to one point only that what he thinks (without knowing them) about them is the right and all other people are wrong ( plz read his posts on this thread ), this is an example of stun born and stupid thinking. You are right, we all are here to learn but if we remain stun born about our point of views and ideology than we can't learn anything. One should be flexible if he want to learn something. But here one person who doesn't know anything about a community want to correct other people who spent so many years with the community in debate. Is it the way to enhance knowledge. Bad approach !

No doubt about that. :)
Yes, i agree that Kuldeep may be expert in some other fields and i am always ready to learn if he put some constructive here or on any other thread :)
Well, so you don't know about sikh community and that's why you didn't said anything about them so far. That's the difference betwen you and Kuldeep.
I hope you got my point now. :)
Lastly, don't think that we are fighting here. This is discussion only and whenever i think that any debate is going off the topic i ignore that instantly.

Vijay....i say confidently that i have done it too:) I never said that i didn't find such people in Haryana. Jats are the best but if somebody claims that only Haryanvi jats are best than i have doubts. No wonder why ?
Yes, problem lies within us becoz i just praised a community which is just like us and some ppl from our community can't digest that at all
Is it about area with Jat population or any community ? Just prepare yourself to be get used to recognize and accept the real facts. Punjab is far better than Haryana regarding the espects you mentioned except Jat population. But yes Haryana have dense and %age wise best for Jats. But for yout kind info Rajasthan have the more Jat population than Haryana.
I had met a lot of persons when i entered into IT scenario and know very well what ppl think about Jats. I just changed the minds of co-workers and other people about Jats and i wonder how many other Jats are doing that.
Wow ! that's a great news that you browse into History section too ! For your kind info i visit regularly there and post my views but for ur conformation just ask the memeber who are contributing into History section what they think if you can spare some time from humour section.

It is not a hard and fast rule that maturity and intellectuality belongs to any age group. Some people are much mature and intelluctual at 20 and on the other hand some maybe too immature and dumb even at 50. All depends on the way of thinking and the real implementation on their way of thinking and how they try to adjust themselves into the circumstances.
Anyways, i am against the perception that it's a useless thread.

Though true to a certain extent I still consider it as a misrepresentation of Jats and a bit of an insulting representaion of Jats.havnt seen the movie but i think wot is wrong if a person is working illegely and having jat accent ? its just a movie and one cant give d same role to a person having baniya looks n accent..cm on guys grow p.if u remember ,in film Paheli , rajputs beat up baniyas......have u ever seen in any film dat a baniya beats up rajput or a jat ??
if u talk about image then don forget wot prejudice we have for other communities like baniyas r money minded ,DARPOOK and punjabi r selfish ..
A persons's nature is based on the community he is born into.bodily strength, steadiness ,,,endeavor,,Dynamic power,,are the natural qualities of a jat.. dishonesty, thievery, faithlessness, useless quarrel are the natural qualities of baniya and punjabi....
if we feel bad and insulting by hearing jat accent and watching jat roles then im sure dat smwhere we r suffering frm inferiority complex...

You misunderstood me Sunitaji ...... or maybe I did not express my self properly .....
I named the elders because if they would have said something ..... their comments would have been respected ,, whether or not they were judged to be right or wrong.
I never implied that age gives a certification for intellect .. or atleast I did not mean to imply that .......
But when one goes out and starts labelling people & discussions as "USELESS" ....... one must present credentials to justify their position to be able to do so
Especialy when the same people were inititiators of threads containing Bollywood Gossip about a particular female actress belonging to our community ........
as we say in Haryanvi "Chaaj to bole bhi ........ chaajni bhi ke bole"
and I would once again like to clarify that age and intellect have no relation ....

well Kuldeep, if u feel dat v hv been mis-represented in the movie RDB, then have a look at Khushwant Singh's Novel- DELHI. its an amazing piece of work- altho earlier i hv was never impressed by his novels.
bt in this novel, he has DIRECTLY termed Jats as ROBBERS and UNWORTHYOF TRUST!!! withgout mincing words.(that cud have been the topic worth discussion)
Bt, in the same breath, he has also termed Sikhs, Rajputs n Rohillas as the same, mind you- the writer himself being a Sikh!
also, his jokes r mostly on Sardars themselves!
So, its all a state of mind
(Now, i think the useless thread is properly channelised)

Hey guys pls dont make it a personal war front:o ...the movie was good, and there's nothing to create so hulla-gulla over the character even. Its nothing discrimination, its just portrayal of one aspect of Jats, as you all know many doing the same business in our pehalwan community.
But in that case also we can not tag it as a useless thread, it may be the perception of one individual, and everyone else need not be confirmative.

Dear Neelam and Sunita Ji,
By the way i am eagerly waiting to read your views on the Mallika thread. I have seen your previous posts and found them intellectually stimulating.

Sunita bebe
Kahi to dusro ko khichne se baaj aa jaya karo. Aap bhi har baat ko apne upar le jati ho. Aap naye logo ke liye role model ho or one of the most contributing star of last year, Khud respective Dev bhai ji ne apke effort appretiate kiye hai.
Mill ke raho and post contributing posts only. Ignore unwanted stuff.
