Fauji Kavi Mehar Singh had five unique qualities.One-He was a true soldier.Two - He was a down to earth folk writter.Three- He was a great folk singer.Four- He was against chhua chhat(popularly known as Hukka Bigaad).
Fifth-He was not communal. He had very good friendship amongst Muslim families. He belongs to my village. I have tried to say something about him in this Kissa. Please go through and comment.

He sounds like a true Jat ... secular, just, brave and an intellectual .. contrary to the present situation of Jats ... where we are growing more fundamentalist and playing into the hands of the religious extremists .... we discriminate against our own Sikh and Muslim brothers ....

Jat affairs have definately hit a new low .. what we fought against for ages .... we have suddenly embraced that evil ourselves ...

we are no more what Fauji Mehar Singh stood for ... let alone others we are against our own blood .... we slam our own brothers on religious grounds ...

Jats used to be Arya Samaji and secular ..... what happened .... seems like we are going backwards .... and just playing into the hands of the Pandits who always sough to dominate us and rule us ..... looks like we lost and they won

As usual saheed kavi MeharSingh Birth Day was celebrated on 15 th Feb at village Barona. Gayak Pale Ram, Azad Singh Khanda Kheri, Sattey Farmana, Rakesh Kiloyeeya,Sanjeev Balambha, Suresh From Dighal, Narender Dangi and many more participated in the Ragni Competetion from 12 am to 7pm.
His sacrifice was remembered something like this-a Ragni....
