well i took my gmat in september although i was able to get a decent score of 670 in it i did really awafull in awa in which i scored 3.5 on scale of 6 the mean score was 4. i applying to three universities they are NUS singapore, Melbourne business school and AGM. My question to you fellow brethren is what are my chances in these universities? and should i consider retaking the test and doing well on AWA? i am really bad when it comes to typing on computer i am still working on my computer skills i have valid work experince of more than 5 years? treat this as SOS since deadlines for applications is right round the corner.

HI Sunit ,
First of all congrats for getting a decent score ,and further i dont think that u will got any difficulty in getting admissions in these universities because ur admission will not depend only depend upon ur GMAT but also ur your work experience and your statement of purpose and atleast u have about five year exp as a plus point so dont worry about AWA part , but if u r thinking of taking gmat again it can be a better option unlees u r preety sure that u will do better in that test ,men that is the game of luck wth hardship,so dont waste time deadline are approaching so apply soon, but i will suggest you that if u apply for better university than these than there are chances than still u can got admission so dont worry.
so bhai goodluck

I took my GRE last November. I lost my cool on the exam and got a 1280 on the exam along wth a 5/6 on the AWA. I retook the exam in 3 weeks. Even though my score went up to 1360, my AWA went up to just 5.5/6.
So, I really wont recommend you retakng the GMAT becaut AWA scores hadly move.

Bhai you have a pretty decent score to make a strong application to the schools you have mentioned. However, here is my two pence. Most of the schools take the 'BEST' GMAT score. So in case you think you have attained certain efficiency in typing since september, you should go for GMAT again. A 3.5 AWA can be easily up-ped. And if you can't raise your score, you already have a 680.
But in case you have not yet started your application(essays and recos) at all, then it might be a good idea to chuck retaking the test. You will be under too much burden.
All the best for your application. Do keep us posted of your progress.

Hello Sunit,
I think your answer lies in my profile. I got a gmat score of 650 and awa I do not remember, i think it was 4.5 or 4. I got through melbourne business school. I believe i could have got into agsm if i would have applied. anyways right now i am in states on 100% schol and i am a GA. I had a workex of 4-5 years. Gmat score is only a part of your application. Your resume, your experience, your recommendations play a big role in getting u the admission. I seriously dont know the repercussion of 3.5 in awa. I think if you cover it up with a good toefl score and getting better grades on Toefl essays then this could alleviate the situation. bother me if u wanna know anything more. Overall i think if you can present your case really well than that could cover up your weak point.
