Australia and India celebrated January 26 as national holidays. For India it was the 57th Republic Day. For Australia it was simply Australia Day when people have fun and reflect. Australians do not have nuclear weapons even though they supply vital uranium to nuclear reactors around the world. Is Australia a weak country without a great army or strategic weapons? India celebrates its Republic Day differently. It has an array of imported Jaguars, Mirages, Sukhois, MiGs and a host of expensive battle tanks, besides impressive weaponry and radar systems, most of which are out on display at its Republic Day parades. For some years it has been showing a variety of domestically built nuclear capable missiles too. Is it a more secure country than Australia?

A country doesnt become stronger just on the behalf of Army Parrade n nuclear weapons( we have live example of USSR).I guess its Citizens and civil rights which makes a stronger.Where citizens rights are protected without any biasness , citizens thrives their economy to new heights which actually make any nation stronger.Japan doesnt possess any army but its one of developed n strong economy.See how much loan our beloved country had from world bank and how much it has been utilised. Our country is not secure country as well(sorry to say..China has much more developed weapons n so does pakistan compartively).
Concluding, its citizens which makes a country stronger not weapons.Ghandhi ji( dreamed of Ram Rajya, which seems near to perfect system, never advocated army or police in country)

Lot more depends on geographic conditions of countries as Australian border is not connected to any of its neighbouring country which in not the case with Bharat. Moreover we have good enemy (Pakistan: which sometime we think as a friend) Apart from this Australia is a good ally of Western countries like Britain and US. which is not the case with India.
