I have been asking all my friends from Punjab here in North America as to which party(s) is going to make it in these elections.
Let me ask they same question here at Jatland too.

HT-CNN-IBN Exit Poll...
Taking everything into account we expect the Congress to win between 53 and 63 seats, and finish slightly ahead of the Akali-BJP combine that may win 47 to 57 seats. In political terms this projection leaves all the three possibilities open.
The most likely scenario is that of the Congress will secure the largest number of seats and with some luck may even win the 59 seats required for majority.
The second possible scenario is that the Congress and Akalis both may finish with equal number of seats and the balance will be held by the half a dozen MLAs from outside the two major blocs. The third scenario, of Akalis finishing at the top and forming the government, is a little less likely but cannot be ruled out.
An election like this can humbled any pollster in the world. The only honest response is to raise one's hands and say that this election is too close to call, to bow one's head and acknowledge that psephology is not so developed a science as to call such a close election with precision. And to invite you all to watch the television when the EVMs are opened on the morning of February 27.

Now that the SAD-BJP alliance has won elections in Punjab, the point of discussion now should be - what were the major causes of defeat of previous regime - corruption, the price rise, unrest among farmers, acute unemployment in Punjab - or other similar reasons? What could be the single most important factor responsible for defeat of earlier ruling party ?

As far as i see it
there are 2 Main Reason for the defeat of Congress
Inflation
Cap. Amrinder Singh - A single man ruling the elections
Some might not believe it but it was said that it is easy to meet Prime Minister but it is allmost impossible to meet the King, Chief minister
