Filmstars are also doing farming as a time pass...
After megastar Amitabh Bachchan, actor Aamir Khan is under the scanner for purchasing agricultural land in Pune district by allegedly claiming he is a farmer.
However Aamir - who reportedly purchased some agricultural land in Maval taluka of Pune district - says he has produced relevant documents to substantiate his claims.
“I am an actor and artiste by profession but by birth I am also an agriculturist in the true definition of the word. I come from an agricultural family. My father, along with his brothers and sisters, owns agricultural property in the form of mango orchards in Shahbaad, Uttar Pradesh. My grand father, great grandfather were also agricultiurists,” Aamir told CNN-IBN.
The actor’s clarification came on a day when Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane said Pune's district collector would conduct an inquiry into the allegations against Aamir.
While Rane said he did not have any specific information or details about Aamir's case, he clarified every Indian citizen had the right to purchase agricultural land provided he had relevant documents.
“I would request you to clarify this through your medium and also, kindly refrain from comparing my investment with that of other,” Aamir said, referring to the Amitabh Bachchan case.
Bachchan too bought agricultural land in Maval by claiming to be a farmer and the matter is being looked into by authorities in Pune district.
A court in Uttar Pradesh recently ruled that Bachchan is not a farmer and struck down the allotment of farm land to him in Barabanki. Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan moved the Allahabad High Court challenging the decision of the Faizabad Additional Commissioner to quash the transfer of land in his name at Daulatpur village in Barabanki district.

Hi
I just started this to share views on this.Amitabh Bachchan has got very big status and he is ruling hearts of indian people. He is doing some of best roles in the Bollywood.Person having status like this should have high moral values.I dont think he is short of money,he is doing so many movies/adds,his son, wife and daughter in law are also stars and having big market value. Now my question is that why Amitabh is talking like this for a peice of land.He has done farming in his movies but I dont think he is farmer by birth.
Amitabh is Srivastava by Gotra and they are kayshth. His father was a great poet but not a farmer.Amitabh has been served notices for income tax also in the past.
Same is case for Aamir Khan.
Why our people talks in terms of money.Honesty is the Best policy,Is this only for their movies.

At the very onset I don't support Maharstr government's condition that only farmers can buy the farming land. How about if some one like Amitabh Bachchan or Dr Naresh Trehan decided to do farming even if they have never been farmers before ? Mahrastra government should only put the condition that the land can be used for farming and nothing else. In a free country government has no business to decide who is farmer and who is not. If a farmer's son can become actor, why can't an actor become farmer? Farming ius a profession and anyone can persue it. Who said that farm,er's son only makes the best farmer?

I Agree with you RK ji here ... A person who is not a farmer can do farming ... that is the state govts rule and they should consider it again .... but breaking rule/law is also not good ... why Amitabh took the wrong path for this? He played with the laws and even the barabanki land is also given to him by putting laws on side ... so the method he adopted is wrong ... uske isa ee kheti karne ka shonk chadha tha to ... Gujarat ... MP ... apne grah rajya UP mein le leta jameen ... ya ek petition dalta is law ke khilaf Mumbai court mein ...
RK ji ... ineh kite na kheti karni ... itna piissa ho jya hai ek usne kite to lavenge na ...

RK Sir,
I would not agree with you here. In our country where 60% of the population depends on agriculture land, we can not afford to get it industrialised. In US, people can buy thousands of hectares of land and make millions out of it every year but if that is allowed here then that will mean thousands of people turning into laborers. Govt has made the law with right intentions but people like Aamir and Bachhans are misusing that. Why these people are not buying land in UP where there is no such law if they are true agriculturalist? They are doing it in Pune because their this land will become a prime land very soon and they can make a lot of money from this.
Just my 2 cents.

Rightly said...These people only misuse the power achieved through their status. Prime location mein, who buys the land in crores to do farming fr couple of thousand...
Lastly, i read somewhere Big B didn't even paid for the govt. security he was provided....Good for them if they are making big money...But wht abt paying their bills....Same gandi adatein.
N our media never stops making them larger than life.
