Virendernarwalji, I differ from your view.Every people in the universe is proud of the feat Of Sunita Williams & company. But as an Indian I am very hurt to see that so much of the importance given to Sunita Williams because this is a real insult to the scientists & other people who are working in ISRO.They are the real people who are working for our country,India. Our citizens should do those things which keep high the moral of those people working in the ISRO. Sunita Williams you make the history the return of Atlantis. Every Indian proud of you.

how much coverage did Electronic media give to Brahmos being handed over to Army?
I didnt see any, inspite of the fact that president was present on the ceremony on 21 june.

Hi,
I fail to understand why our media go crazy about something happening in US. Sunita William is a US citizen and I do not think she is ever going to do something big for Indian people. Then interviewing her relatives in India and making it sort of a 'national crisis'. Ofcourse they would be worried. But there are people facing far serious problems in India. Why does not media concentrate on other serious issues? Why do we always need heroes and keep on making false heroes.

Just because her first name is 'Sunita' we are rejoicing in her success. First of all she is half Indian by Race only otherwise she is bred, born, raised and educated in USA. India has absolutely no hand in her success. She is American by all accounts so it really amazes me as to why so much pride is taken by us Indians in her success. It is a case of consoling ourselves when we haven't been able to achieve similar success. I wonder if the newspapers would make such a big deal if her name was something like Ashley or kimberly? I for one just don't get the whole idea of rejoicing in someone else's success.

Big deal!
I checked out her resume. She has a bachelors in Physical Science and a Masters in Engineering management.
She is not the genius that most assume her to be.
If you think carefully about what she does, you wont bother any more than you do for the trash truck guy.
She flew to space to collect trash and make mechanical repairs on the space station that are micro-supervised by "real engineers"" on earth. But, then as expected of a governemtn run program a shuttle could not be sent to bring her back to earth. By the time they managed to get her to earth, she had been there for long enough.
The last time I heard of a NASA astronaut was when a nutcase female from the agency drove 1500 miles non stop while she crapped in diapers.
I am willing to bet 2 bucks on when we will find out that Sunita williams drove 1500 miles in diapers. Afterall, just anyone would go insane after floating in space for all those months.

Matt D(h)illon is a Jat.
So is Lindsay Lohan
We should start a thread on jatland congratulating them for their success in Hollywood.
Hey bhagwan, what are people back home smoking? I believe crack makes you delusional and paranoid - or is it some other drug? I hope my countrymen / women stop celebrating irrelevant achievements and get their own house in order - by which I mean start realizing how their government is messing with their lives and destroying their children's future.

Bhai Jaan these comments are totally unexpected from a person of your thinking. Not every trash picker goes to ISS and moreover no degree is inferior than the other. A person is not genius based on his degree or diploma but other qualities that I hope you know well.
How you underestimate physical science compared to MBA or business management. I am not going for debate on this issue but donot be so HIGH HEADED that you donot realise where your feet are landing.
As per media hype in India, that was wastage of time, money and resources to some extent atleast. Even USA did not cover that as much as Indian media did !

Well, some degrees are superior over other inferior degrees. That is why some degrees get better jobs, while other degrees are as good as having no degree at all.
I dont know why anyone would consider my comments to be "high headed."
I just expressed my opinion that I do not think it is a big deal to collect trash from the space and do mechanical repairs.
I do hold great admiration for those who actually develop the space program. That is where the real genius and intellect come to play.
Space travel is a government monopoly, which is about to change.
Very soon you and I will be able to fly to space. Are we still going to yap about Indians going to space, when anyone with 250,000 in their bank account can make a trip to the stars?

You can not mark a degree as inferior. A doctor cannot do the work of a Historian, though in your words Doctor's degree should be superior. It depends upon the personal choice what you want to do. After that it is about demand and supply. Even scientists wash the petridishes many times but that does not make them a 'cleaner' Mechanical engineers do such work and clean the trash caused during work. But calling someone 'trash picker' who definetly achieved a mile-stone is downgrading that person intentionally. This is where you showed your 'high headedness'.
Donot judge everything by money. A person is marked genius besed upon his IQ not the degree.

Ok then, I hope that you will motivate your child to get a degree in Feminist Studies.
Yes, I am a high headed person. I am an achiever. I achieved everything I always wanted. Theres tonnes more to achieve. And I will achieve that too with my inspiration and hard work
After going through all the toil and hard work, at the least I deserve to be high headed.
My high headedness does not come at your or any one elses's personal cost. My high headedness reminds me day after day that I am better than most. My high headedness is the inspiration that propels me day in and day out.
All ths aside the most humble of my opinion tells that what Sunita did wasnt a milestone at all. My humble opinion further instructs me to allow Sunita an opportunity to be High headed for whatever her achievements are.

.
LOL..that's the problem, you want everyone to see the world from your eyes or perspective. I will let my kids decide what they want to be in life, thats what you call freedom. Try not to measure the world by your personal yard stick.
Reading rest of your post its useless to argue further, so over from myside.
