In our society many homes are suffered from this evil. Many lost their lives, khet-khalihan and peace of mind after them ..... ruin whole family and children in-turn.

Let us take them one by one ....

SHARAB - शराब

Sharab is the main problem with our society. This is approachable even to the less earning. Small small packets/bottles are available and easily can be obtained. Ek gareeb te gareeb aadmi bhi pavva mar ke so sake hai 10 rs mein chahe uske liye usse apne bache ki fees hi kyon na katni pade.

Even JanJagriti has this in its motto too.

But what I feel is that we should first knew this in deep. I found some of the queries un-answered by me, Dr Ranbir dahiya uncle and other fellow members, please put some scientific and homeopathic remedies and other social efforts that can be done to reduce or eradicate this evil.

Let us suppose there is a person who has created a hell of his home by drinking daily in access,

1) What should the family do in this regard?

- Pahelyan parivar wale kudh samjha ke dekhe hein .... ristedar katthe karein ....kae baar ladein bhi uste ... normally peeniya aadmi nue kahya kare ek .... eeb pache na piion er pher pee le .....

to what should be the families take?
I think here some psycological approach can also help, but how and who?

किस तरह का वैवहार परिवार की तरफ से होना चाहिये?

Bechari ladies/bachey ladai karte hein ..... to ladai jhagda iss pravarti ko badhata hai ya phir kuch Dar paida karta hai peene wale ke man mein?

2) Is there any tablet or diagnosis in medicine to help people fight this drinking habbit? How much they are helpful?

I have heard many desi davai for these ..... doctor members and other, kindly put some light on these. Whether there are some good or all these are just illusion created by the people?

What are the tablets and their prescription?
Some specialist doctors that somebody came across?

3) Nasha Mukti kendra -

Many many nasha mukti kendras are there and I personally knew that many of them are fraud themselves. By personal experience of a friends brother when we put him in Gohana and rohtak jhajjhar chungi ones..... even the so called teachers there provide them material for money.

So how can these Nasha mukti kendra's can help? and any really good one?

Other things that needs to be taken care and can help to prevent a person from drinking habbit.

Kindly share your views, may it help someone .....

Agar shauk ho to nasha pagalpan tak karo (ya to karna chod doge , ya fir karne layak hi nahi bachoge)

Roj roj ka jhanjhat jab hota hai jab aap na is paar ho na us paar .

Gud to give it a go if u really feel like ! things will definitely be sorted out

Only 1 solution..Ban on intake, production, import, export and selling of liquor in our country..It will cause a lot of loss for government in name of duty but just think so many lives would be much better with No 'Nashe mein dhutt' husbands, No 'Nashe mein dhutt' Gunde and so much money and time saving on all these 'Nasha Mukti Kendras' and our discussions..Point is can it practically happen? If not, what does it take to make it happen?

Also, I am amazed why liquor and wines are made a status symbol in our armed forces and given on discount to our forces? Does it any way help them in discharging their duties? On one hand they are taught a healthy lifestyle and on the other liquors flow like water in the parties..

Well, "nasha" can be said to be an instinct to be under a state of seduction, away from the real life. If people are asked why they want to drink or why they drink, then all have very well knitted, their own good reasons.

Cant comment on the viability of this habit of drinking, but when I do think why people drink, very well knowing that it is an artificial means to take a person into a state where his conciousness or the reactability to the situations around tends to decrease, & the mind achieves an 'artificially created seductive position' ! Why this addiction is required ! Dont know ! At times people say whats the harm ? Some say..... this has to be done in corporate culture ! For some its a means to take them away from distress & stress ! Some have the reason.... kal kisne dekha hai aaj jo acha lag raha hai karna hai hame to !

Well, I cant preach anything & no one can in this matter! The only weapon that could lead to awareness is an understanding that why to go for artificial pleasures, which have nothing good to offer and comes with many evident, hidden & inherent costs which one realises in that phase of life when he find himself saying, "Kaash................."!

Nasha Mukti Kendra wale fraud hain.

Solution is only to change his attitude by family member. Don't hate , love as you can & give responsibility to him. Don't leave alone & Stick with him specially evening time ( jab piyekad friends ke sath jana chahe. akela admi jayada nahi pee sakta ). May be it will take time to get positive result.

Dear All
Really avery serious issue for the society. The main burnt in the family of a sarabi is on the women and her children. The more the imbalances in the socity, the more cases of drinking will be there. It can be tackled with a social reform movement on social evils- nasha being one of them. In isolation it is very difficult as we have earlier experiences.

Dear Friends,
I must appreciate the efforts of my colleagues for starting this thread. Scientifically, addiction/dependence is a disease/ illness, which is completely treatable/curable.

Ideally, the treating persons should be a qualified psychiatrist, clinical psychologist and a psychiatric social worker. Where the role of psychiatrist is to diagnose and prescribe the medicines for detoxification, to reduce craving etc. The role of clinical psychologist is to give the motivation enhancement therapies as well as other psychological treatment. Finally, the role of PSW is to findout the social problems of the patients (who is taking any addition) and suggest them the remedial measures.

In my opinion, one must get treatment from the Govt. hospitals/institutions like PGI Rohtak, PGI Chandigarh, Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, AIIMS, Delhi, RML Delhi, GB Pant Hospital, Delhi or at my own Institute IHBAS, Delhi. These hospitals/institutions provide free of cost treatment through OUT PATIENT CLINICS as well as INDOOR (IN PATIENTS).

I will try to arrange (make) some manual with the help of my colleagues, but it will take some time. In the meanwhile, if I would get exact number of patients (about 50-60 at a place) then with the help of my colleague I would like to help such patients through camps/lectures on holidays/sundays.

Please feel free for further help/fix up programmes for awareness campaigns.

with best wishes & regards,
Vinod
