Hi members,

I have expanded and updated Jat gotras on Jatland Wiki. You may see it here - http://www.jatland.com/home/Gotras It took last few months to complete this work. Now we have on it details about Total 4596 Jat Gotras with all possible variants. The red entries still do not have any informations, which need to be developed. Members of those gotras are requested to create articles on them and expand. The salient features of Jat gotras on Jatland Wiki are as under:

Standardization of Jat gotras

Some Jat gotras have many variants eg. Badhran/Budhrain/Budhrayan. gotras written in this style are not search able on internet. Also these can not be intrlinked on Wiki media. It has been tried to choose one standard form or most commonly used variant out of these multiple variants to represent that gotra. Other variants have been given links to this probable standard form. Though standardization of Jat gotras is difficult due to variations developed in the past due to local influence of languages.

Number of Jat Gotras

Following is the number of Jat gotras arranged alphabetically with all possible variants in the Index list. The Grouping of different variants of the same gotras has been done in the respective article of that gotra. Here is the number of gotras alphabetically:

.
This entire task, especially the categorisation and history of gotras, is a commendable task. There are some gotra pages which do not have enough information. Members may contribute from their side as it is a common database and all of us have some knowledge about one's own gotra and their relatives' ones. Make the pages richer by yourself !
