Most of us think that there are metal thives only in India. They have them in UK also and interestingly most of the stolen metal is finding its way to China and India.

The way commodities are being consumed in India and China, day is not too far when these two countries my bare the entire planet naked of all resources.

off topic - i don't know why India is not focusing on alternative fuels. People are running cars on water and people are still running after oil.

Yes oil companies don't want this info to get out and they will make sure people still rely on oil so they can keep making billions. There are many more alternatives such as using solatubes in building and houses to bring in natural sun light and stop using electricity during day time -

If all houses start using this technology, you can save tons and tons of coal and fuel burning.

They already have very light and flexible solar panels that can be easily placed on roof and with them they can generate electricity that can be used at night. So use solatubes during the day and rely on solar panels at night. Yes they are expensive and that's why government needs to take steps and do something about it.

For metals, things are eventually recycled and if they run out of something, I am sure they will to something else or create it in labs.

:) Interesting story! Seems like the rising metal prices are making this a profitable business for the mafias around the world...there were some incidences of stolen statues here too!

Its gonna last till the metal prices are high...gold reached its all time high this month...an interesting metal nowadays is nickel...the most expensive of all base metals at present due to high steel demand in mainly China and then rest of BRICs...people watch out for your metals lest some thief's eyeing it ;)
