Hi folks,
Have anyone of you used noise cancelling headphones..I have read that they are only good for in-travel use as normally they keep emitting humming noise so can't be used for in-home listening pleasure..if anyone has any first hand experience let me know...and how much decibel reduction is good enough?
thx

My brand is Sennheiser Headphones !!
I'm using it for past 2 years, Wireless headphones for music as well as for my shooting class. Believe me I could not hear any kinda noice and distraction when i shoot from my Rifle !! Not only good while travelling but it gives you pleasure for home listening too ....Thankfully we do have sole distributer and service centre for Sennheiser in my town !!

Which model do you have brother? Does Sennheiser have wireless Noise-cancelling headphones too or is it normal wireless ones? Secondly, does wireless works with laptops n mp3 players like ipod too?

Brother I'm using Sennheiser PXC 450 which is Noice-Cancelling Headphones and is wired one. It has a special feature known as Noisegard which reduces 90 % of ambient noise. It works on single AAA battery and can strech out to 12 hours !! You can use it for Laptops,MP3, Ipods, Izune, Iphone, TV, Airlines bla bla all sorts of connectors are available.
Another one I'm using is Sennheiser RS 140 which is wireless but not Noise-Cancelling Headphones. It works on Wi-Fi and IR. It works only where Wi-Fi is available as you will get transmitter along with it. No Bluetooth.
Bluetooth is missing in Sennheiser !!
Other products from Bose, Koss and Shure are also available here but not upto the class of Sennheiser my personal comments !!
For Bluetooth I heard only two companies Scosche and Ge-Jasce bring up headphones but not noise cancelling and moreover its not available in India so far, you can try in States !!
