Bhagat Singh is remembered on his death anniversary – 23 March. The year 2007 was the year of celebration of his 100th birth anniversary. Recently, there was news that GOI has decided to put a statue of Bhagat Singh inside the Parliament House. देर आयद, दुरुस्त आयद. After this event, he will again be forgotton and Indians will be busy in election related events and other issues.
There are multiple threads in the memory of Bhagat Singh, two are worth mentioning:
Bravo Bhagat Singh (http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19626&highlight=Bhagat+Singh)
A Salute To Shaheed BhagatSingh (http://www.jatland.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13182&highlight=Sardar+Bhagat+Singh)
Let us remember this brave son of India.

Bhagat Singh is and will always remain India's National Hero. I've always thought about him as being India's Son of the Nation and I strongly believe he should be honored with the same title. Association of any form of disgrace against his name is not even a bit acceptable.
Bhai Vikas Rathee, bhot badiya kaam kiya hai aapne. We all are proud of you. Bhagat Singh hamesha se humaare hero hai aur hamesha hero rahenge.
Tomorrow is 23rd March...let's salute our 'Son of the Nation'. Bhagat Singh Zindabad...Bhagat Singh Zindabad...

What ever Mayawati says does not make that much impact on society but the word used by UPSC, which is a Government Institution, can make a larger and long lasting negative impact on the young generation of the country.

Nice approach Bhai ........ I agree :)
But i think that one thing leads to another and hence some theory/history.
I am still trying to dig out the truth that why those Historian used the word "lutere' for Jats in NCERT books.

Nation remembers its great martyrs and pioneering revolutionaries of Independence movement as the death anniversary of Shaheed-e- Azam Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru has been observed across India on Sunday.
On this day in 1931, Bhagat Singh along with Rajguru and Sukhdev were given death sentence by thenBritish Government.
Rajguru was the accomplice of Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev in killing a British police officer in Ferozpur in 1928 in order to take revenge for the death of veteran leader Lala Lajpat Rai due to excessive police beating.
In April 1929, the Central Legislative Assembly met in Delhi. The British Government wanted to place before the Assembly two bills which were likely to harm the country's interests.
Even if the Assembly rejected them, the Viceroy could use his special powers and approve them, and they would become laws.
Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt planned to throw a bomb in the Legislative Assembly and, get arrested.
On 8th of April 1929 this is what they exactly did. The idea of the attack was not to kill anyone but to create awareness about India's freedom struggle. They were arrested after this attack.
In their trial Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt stated, "If the deaf are to hear, the sound has to be very loud. When we dropped the bomb, it was not our intention to kill anybody. We have bombed the British Government. The British must quit India and make her free."
In the trial it was decided that Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were to be hanged for all their anti British activities.
The stories of his courage and patriotism became an inspiration for many youth at that time who wanted to see India independent.
Even today Shaheed Bhagat Singh's memory continues to inspire the youth and many poems and songs have been written about his courage and undying patriotism.

A famous poet was so right while writing these words. The Martyrs who have laid their lives for freedom are remembered only on the anniversaries and the Politicians who are squeezing the public funds for their benefits are being worshipped. My dear our doomsday is not far off and we (the common man) will be reduced to a Rubber stamp which will be used only to stamp the Ballot paper and then again it will be left alone till next election.
May god help us to rise above the goats to become a lion like the respected Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev and many others like them who have laid their lives unnoticed.
