We all know and have been somewhere a part of music piracy.. be it hearing pirated songs, buying cheap MP3 CDs or downloading songs.... with change in times piracy has been changing faces and here is a new Avatar of Piracy:

Mobile Chip Piracy: I was seeing NDTV cell guru and i saw how rampant this new form of piracy is. You all must be shocked to know the songs that you transfer through bluetooth, you download from net, songs you purchase in chips from Palika or Lajpat Rai market are all pirated and unknowingly we all are promoting piracy....

I was a part of NDTV operation against piracy and when we went out to see the condition in Lajpat Rai Market we saw that people are openly sitting with laptops, we got to know that there are 365 laptops in the market to fit in songs to mobile chips with price ranging from Rs. 50- Rs. 100 depending on the size of chip.

It is good to know that India is first country in the world to create awareness on mobile chip piracy but sad to know we have the weakest laws here.

The question that i would like to discuss here is on piracy... Should piracy be there? How can we overcome this problem?
In UK you can be fined an unlimited penalty and 10 years of sentence, in US the fine can go up to $15million and 20 years of sentence whereas in India it is a fine upto Rs. 2 Lakh and maximum sentence of 3 years....

When people who do commit heinous crimes, murder people, drunken driving n crush the common people on the streets go scott free, evil n corrupt politicians who have nothing to give to society, when nothing cn happen to these people. Then, why do wish to make the life of a common man more difficult with these stupid laws which are ultimately in the interests of private industries...Let's not make the common people's life more troublesome.
