There are N ways of downloading videos from youtube..you can choose the one you like better..check the ways on youtube itself:

By default Youtube videos are .flv files (flash video files). You can either convert .flv to other playable formats or directly play .flv files in VLC player or a new media player SMPlayer(its actually better than VLC)

Download n install, u can easily download vdos in .flv format on ur pc from youtube! but u need .flv player to play ... which u can also find free on net!
try Rivaflvplayer!!
