Folks,
Do not ask for or share illegal file download links on Jatland. This can not only get you in trouble but also the entire forum. Members posting such threads will be promptly banned by moderators. Consider this as a fair warning!

Could you please elaborate why such sort of matter is being raised? And what is the harm?

Recently, people have been posting threads with a whole bunch of links on where to download software illegaly from. There have also been threads asking where people can download software etc.
The harm is that this is illegal, similar to DVD piracy. The software manufacturers can come after the site as the material is hosted here, and as admins it is our duty to safeguard our site from such stuff.

Satyeshwar Singh Ji,
You have raised right point. This foram should not encourage any illegal activity in any form. Further over the period it has been observed that some members are using unpaliamentary language while expressing thier views. Local lingua with doube meaning to be banned and member who posts such thing must be advised (warned) in clear terms against this and such material be removed from site immediately.

They will not come after this site. They will only go after sites that host them. If it was illegal to even link to sites that allow download of movies, you will see sites being shutdown all over the net. As long you don't host the content, you have nothing to worry about. :D

I think you are asking too much from them ......... as they have right to raise a warning against a decent langauge ( according to Jatland rules ) but can't stop someone using slang/abusive words.

They even don't consider any past record of the individual members ...... when they raise a warning ..........

It's practical approach personally ..... otherwise they couldn't neglect the people who came forward to help jatland at that time when jatland needed that most ..........

Anyways ...... mods are doing a nice job ..... what they are supposed to do ..

Keep it up guys :)

keep in mind its illegal activity that is helping Indian tech sector. Don't tell me that they are all buying licenses for every software they use. If they are telling you that, they are lying. Millions of young Indians are using software to learn how to program, design, create movies etc and its illegal software that is helping them. :-)

I don't recommend hosting them here but a discussion should be allowed.
