Is Seema ji being banned justified?

When it came to my knowledge that our fellow member Seema Sindhu ji has been banned from the site owing to some obvious reasons, then truly speaking, it came as an unpleasant news to me. I can understand that there were some provokative comments made by her and she even raised some issues concerned with the stand taken by the moderators on various fronts. And, now she stands banned from the site. But, didnt we overlooked the brighter side of her personality? Her lucrative writing skills, her newer and deterministic approach towards looking at many a kind of things etc ? I agree that the decision taken to ban her must be backed by solid reasons, but if a family member makes a mistake then is throwing him or her out of family justified just because of the reason that there were some instances where his or her conduct seemed to be offensive until and unless it becomes absolutely impossible to come at a solution in any a manner ? Families are meant to provide a sense of bonding which must try handling even issues of this kind in a positive manner, where banning must be the last option. In this case, what I opine is that a little more positive interaction must have been had with her instead of the normal warning stuff, because presenting a flower to someone is many a times mightier than throwing a stone at someone ! Harsh actions cant be solution to hard words. I can understand this is a community portal, and has many a kinds of behavioural as well as practical limitations, but still, she is a person with a positive side too, an that positive side must not be overlooked. I request the moderators to please re consider the matter and I hope many people out her will agree with me here.

If such had been the case, it is one real shame. I have been reading threads where people are literally swearing at one another. Wonder why moderators close their eyes when it comes to to those threads. Or it is that they didn't happen to read that. I don't think so. One particular thread is running here since months and is full of Fs and the Ws and the Ss.

I am in no way advocating further bans. Just that something seems to be wrong here. Are moderators biased?? No one would know unless they unfold their self-formed but 'uninvited' mysteries.

While I'm not quite sure about the exact reason for the ban & giving the moderators a benefit of doubt, I hope they had good enough reasons. But the question is what were they?

Whatever lil I've known Seema for she does come across as a girl with a pretty sad taste in humor.:rolleyes: It's possible that the same isn't appreciated by many (moderators topping the list). But maybe hers is a young mind that craves for a lot of attention and maybe controversies are her way! I found Seema's method of rebellion & targeting a particular moderator and then generalizing the concept to all women very stupid & childish. Maybe she took things a little too far, trying to have the last laugh but look who is laughing at this point of time.

Going by some of the postings that she was banned for using the word "Hul-kut" & if its really true, I call this ban extremely immature & the moderators taking things a little too far. I say this cuz she used the word for me but I never complained about it. So did anyone else complain? Or, its the classic case of a game of football where even the referee wants to score a goal? :rolleyes:

Forums by nature are zones of high tolerance & that's what keeps them going. Unless & until things are taken way too far by any member in particular, all admins & moderators should take the back seat & play the 'I for Ignore'. Maybe it's the not the way at Jatland. I can’t say for sure for I've been here for just a week now but I already have bad taste in mouth. If immaturity like this continues, there is a good possibility that slowly most of the members will walk away.

A believer of exercising "Corrective measures over punitive unless absolutely necessary otherwise", I am in total agreement with my shrink friend Neels ;) that there are better ways of dealing with situations of similar or worse nature.

A personal warning or two, maybe counseling the subject regarding appropriate forum etiquettes & a public warning should precede a ban. This would not only give the individual involved sufficient time to mend his/her ways but even educate everyone else of potential bans.

In my personal opinion & that of the general consensus it is time that the moderators came out in open & shared their reasons for banning Seema & others, unless of course someone is just trying to play rank!:mad:

No ! Many a times I cant care to read all posts, even if I wish to owing to time constraints. Anyways, someone saying that please ban me so that I maight not divert from work is quite undigestable, I mean if doesnt have time then he can stay away on his own, what has ban to do with it ! Vijay, that was the point I wanted to made that it is no point in banning someone on such requests and neither in lifting the ban similarly. So, if this was the reason behind the ban of Reena ji, then I think there is no point in such kind of banning. The term will loose its underlying purpose and viability if this can be exercised as an option by any member. :)

I hope moderators will not let down the respect of the site, because now what is at stake is the dignity of moderators which is not just being questioned, it is being torn to bits by people. Even rules need constant vigil as regards to their viability with the ongoing scenario at helm. So, moderators speak seldomly might have been an unquoted rule, but still we hope to see something never before in the Jatland history from the moderators' side. Naye moderators banane ke baad unhone bhi kisi ko ban kar diya to ? Shaayad fir naye bana lenge ... untill mods declare the they are not going to ban anyone ...... is it the right solution ?

good for her.now she can use her intellect and energy for something productice.hulkut word is not such an offensive word for which anybody could be banned.but god knows what is in mind of jatland moderators.most of the moderators r the one who spend most of their time sitting in chaupal and pasting copy paste stuff .so bascially ther r not active members ther are just the sitting members.and people who do really got active here they get banned most of the time.i really do not see any reason for warning a person for using the word hulkut.

Totally UNJUSTIFIED:o whatever might have she written that could be edited as other posts are edited as it shows a decision take in a haste which i've not seen and experienced on Jatland ever. I know what type of hard work it's to get somebody PERMANENTLY BANNED or the moderators have become over-efficient or over-learned to take decision on clip of their fingers.

Then i read that Reena Khatri was banned by a Moderator by her HUMBLE request? I'm sure its not done by Satyeshwar cuz i made all efforts to get myself banned so that i can UTILIZE my time by refraining myself from JL but all went in vain and i had a better control and to priortize not to visit;)

Simply making someone A MODERATOR cuz they have never been in controversies is the ONLY CRITERIA? They must have GUTS too to speak out or we'll just have RAG DOLLS in name of moderators but they behave like DAREDEVILS just coz they can click on a person'r name and ban them suitably to his/her own choice.
