Dear Friends,
Climate change is a big international issues these days. However very few know the real science of climate change. Media picks up only the sensational aspects and puts all blame on industrialization. Very few people are aware of different type of solar cycles which are directly responsible for climate change. Just have a look at some of these very informative links;
1. http://en.rian.ru/analysis/20080103/94768732.html
2. http://personal.inet.fi/tiede/tilmari/sunspot5.html
More than climate change its our over exploitation of grand water, polution of rivers etc which matters the most in my view.

I have very high regard for russian basic scientists for their out of box thinking. Russian scientists are predicting that the Earth could soon face new Ice Age. There is lots of merit in what they say;
http://en.rian.ru/science/20080122/97519953.html
In the concluding remarks of above news item the scientists say that;
The Earth must brace itself for a growing ice cap, rather than rising waters in global oceans caused by ice melting.
Mankind will face serious economic, social, and demographic consequences of the coming Ice Age because it will directly affect more than 80% of the earth's population, the scientist concluded.
As we all know this year entire North India has been in the grip of very low temperatures. The temperature in Bombay touched almost 11 C. North America has been experiencing heavy snow fall and very low temperatures.
In India where almost 70% of our population is dependent on agriculture, the imact of mini ice age will be massive. Since this is likely to happen in our childern's life time, isn't it the time to raise the issue at every possible level ?

Hi all,
Please watch this documentary movie "An Inconvenient Truth". It is on global warming. Its quite strange though that Al Gore (Vice President of US under the Clinton administration in 1998) who did not sign the kyoto protocol agreement in 1998 is now advocating his concerns on global warming by sharing his groups findings on the topic. Anyways, do watch this movie because it's really very very informative and extremely well presented.
The trailer of the movie can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnjx6KETmi4. Also see http://www.aninconvenienttruth.co.uk/.
Thanks,
Sumit

sir,
1. puts all blame on industrialization.
2. More than climate change its our over exploitation of grand water, polution of rivers etc which matters the most in my view.
the later is the after effect of industrilisation only ....
however like you said the article really makes lot of sense and logically that approach has lots of strength in it.
after all how did we come out of earlier ice ages .... guess there wasn't any insustrilisation in those times ............

I used to be global warming whistle blower until a couple of years back before this article turned me into a cynic:

Kabir, 'an' article by an economist on climate change should not turn one into a cynic...without trying to start another messy debate here, just wanted to point out that high CO2 levels brought about the mini ice age the writer is talking about.
Even if we dont believe in global warming/climate change, there is no harm in trying to be more environmentally friendly and moving towards better technology that can do more with less...thats my take on the subject! To each his own...
P.S: The comments on the article are pretty interesting too.

Climate change/global warming issue will be heat up more as Govts. are turning in tto corporations in the era of modern colonisation.Documentaries in favour and against are out and they themselves are bigger market.Out of all hue n cry over it, still one change around oneself is enough rather than giving constipational speeches.
