This is the only forum on the net that requires you to use full name when signing up. Why is that? How come site admins are not worried about privacy of their site members?

I remember when i signed up, my account was deleted twice and I was forced to give my name. Why is that? If you force people to give their name, why not make the forum private. This forum is public and if one is trying to gain information, all they have to do is search Google.

I just gave few examples but I think site owners need to look at their site policies and allow members to sign up with alternative names. I say this from experience and as a site owner it is my responsibility to make sure my members personal information (name, personal picture) is not leaked to general public. I either don't ask for it but if required, that information stays private and can only be accessed by site admins. Yes, we have facebook, myspace etc but they don't force you to use real name.

If people want to give their name, put a picture online and talk about their personal lives, let them do it. However, don't force site members to give their real name just to prove they are Jat.

And what about the people who are/were not Jats and still are member of this site ....... i wonder if admins have any fullproof method to assure that any member is really a Jat.

hmm why have such restriction in the first place. Let them join the forum and if they cause problem, BAN them. I understand site owners have property rights but I don't see the sense in asking for full name, location just for a discussion forum. If they were offering a paid service, I understand. Imagine if Google starts asking for name and location just to use their gmail or their search engine.
