You must have come across a couple of threads here, posing questions about the meaning of ‘Haryana’, the relationship of this land (and all Jats) with Lord Shiva – and above all, who actually was ‘Shiva’ or ‘Har’ or ‘Mahadev’ ?
The famous Jat scholar and archaeologist Acharya Bhagwan Dev (Swami Omanand) was the one who fought for creation of a separate Haryana state, now a reality. Based on Vedic, traditional and archaeological findings, he had written a book, which was published in 1965 (before Haryana state was separated from Punjab), clearing all doubts about the Vedic name “Haryana”, “Shiva” and other characters, and the ancient boundaries of this kingdom of Shiva (Har) – which spread from Chambal valley in the south to Sutlej river in the north, from Hardwar to Badayun in the West, covering most areas of today’s eastern Rajasthan and of course, Delhi (Indraprastha), the central city of Haryana.
This famous book can now be read at Jatland Wiki under section "Books on Jat History (http://www.jatland.com/home/Books_on_Jat_History)", precisely at the following link:
http://www.jatland.com/home/Veerbhoomi_Haryana (http://www.jatland.com/home/Veerbhoomi_Haryana)
Thus, the subject-matter of this book is not just confined to present-day Haryana, but to a vast land, which we often call ‘Jatland’.

good efforts sir, but indus valley civilization covers a land more than that of haryana, perhaps it was bronze age civilization of jats...like that of mahabharta...ramayna was yet to come into picture...being in iron age..

Fantastic
This is exactly what we have been looking for.
Books that are digitalized and upload.
Many heartfelt thanks, and congratulations.
How long this take you, and what was the process.
Can we do this for other books as well?

The theories of “Iron Age” or “Bronze Age” are the imaginations of Western historians. The Ramayana period was not “Iron Age”, but the “Golden Age” of Indian history. <O:p</O:p

Thanks, Ravi ji, that you liked. I have digitalized three more books which are already at Wiki section. See page : Arya Samaj Literature (http://www.jatland.com/home/Arya_Samaj_Literature)
Digitilisation of English books is somewhat easy because of availability of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) programmes where a printed page is kept on a scanner and it gets converted into MS Word - a few corrections can be made thereafter. Indian techies have made some Hindi software freely downloadble on Internet. But there is no OCR programme for Hindi (Devnagri) or other Indian languages. Hence, one has to sit on computer, type the text slowly and keep on saving it in MS Word or some other word processor. It took me one month to convert “Veerbhoomi Haryana” into digital format and downloading on Wiki. This was done on holidays or in extra time. If one devoted full time, it could have been done in a shorter period.
I am sanguine that if some of us make a sincere effort, we could perhaps produce a small digital library.

Hi Deshwalji, Nice work on Veerbhoomi Haryana.
Now we have two complete books on Jatland Wiki:
वीरभूमि हरयाणा by श्री आचार्य भगवान् देव in Hindi at http://www.jatland.com/home/Veerbhoomi_Haryana
History of Jats by Ram Swarup Joon at
http://www.jatland.com/home/History_of_the_Jats
In this Wiki format First page is index and it gives links to each chapter. This is proper format on Wiki. In that case pages are not too long. What we need is to bring more books on Jats and Jat History on Jatland Wiki.
Raviji has uploaded some of abstract books on Jat History Yahoo Group. We can bring all those on Jatland Wiki.
Raviji is requested to upload the images as required on RS Joon's History of Jats.

Its a great work to bring the history books on the portal. I had no interest in history when i was a student up to 10th and after that i have not read a single thing, may be its the method of what teachers adopted to teach history that i lost interest in that as i was poor in craming the dates in history but was in interested in the contents.
Also i have not seen very much written on the history of haryana and the importance of the place where i belong to clearly written in history and even the teachers were not aware.
But after entering in to the section i am getting interest in reading all the past and the great people of Haryana and the surrounding. Also how the people have mouled the facts in their way as what i have seen the history of others.
Its great to read the book translated by DnD sir on the portal. Also its great to see the work of Burdak sir.
