Chautala ends up annoying voters
Kasar (Jhajjar), February 8
The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Om Prakash Chautala, was today stumped by the aggressive attitude of residents of this village during his Sarkar Apke Dwar programme. The two-day programme concluded on a sour note as people expressed their resentment openly and the Chief Minister made blunt remarks on their complaints. An embarrassing situation arose in this village, 7 km from Bahadurgarh town, today when residents responded with a “No” to every query of Mr Chautala on development being as per his earlier announcements.
The situation turned bitter when one person demanded the concretisation of the street by which the cavalcade of the Chief Minister had entered the village. To the demand, Mr Chautala responded bluntly: “Who wants to come to your village? I regret having come here.” Several other demands were also met with similar cold response from the Chief Minister’s party.
Talking to mediapersons, Khem Chand, leading the villagers, said they were angry at the nasty remarks and humiliating treatment meted out to their village by the Chief Minister.
Mr Chautala also came across such uncomfortable situations in other villages during the two-day trip. He faced hooting at Barona village yesterday. In Bhansru Kalan village also the Chief Minister made adverse remarks on the villagers when they raised their demands.
