During my recent trip to India learnt about a lot of bad things happening in villages and in the country e.g. drought, crime etc. However there was a very heartening piece of news I would like to share with all young Jats.
It is a true story about a Jat boy from not so rich family ( sometimes struggles to meet the school tuition fee). For obvious reasons father could only afford to send him to crowded village school where teachers are absent a lot and rarely take the trouble to actually teach even when they are in school. Father is a retired soldier who seemed have hard time staying sober ( believe he has changed now). Besides father's pension farming is the only source of income in a large family. There was not enough time for this boy to study because he had to help his mother on the farm. At times he got punished by his father for taking books with him because he used to read them in between the farm work specially when it got too hot to work or he got too tired.
Obviously the boy had keen interest in his studies and endured all the hardship and father's beating but did not give up on his study. He was the top student in school and wanted to become a Doctor. He did take CPMT and also State PMT. I believe he is some where in the top of merit. However due to financial consideration he decided to go for State Medical College. He is on his way to becoming a Doctor and those who know him can not help but admire his persistence against all odds and wish him luck and happiness in life. He has already changed his father's life who has given up drinking now and hope he makes many more lives better in future as a Doctor and a decent human being who sets a good example for other children to follow. Do you know what motivated this young Jat ? I think it is the spirit which refused to accept defeat. That is what I would call Jat Spirit.

Respected Shubha Ji,
Welcome back at Jatland ....you were being really missed by atleast a few (may be lot or all) of us who look at you as guiding spirit to us!
It's really a gr8 example for being inspired and take proud in himself as well as ours being part of most fighting (not in literal sense only as our army is full of our people, and we ppl do indulge in dog fights a lot!) community...JAT's.
Thank you for your being there as a guiding soul to us!
Wishing you a very happy and prosperous New Year along with family and friends!
Regards,

subha chand ji namaskar, its a good example and need to be imbibed by all, atleast who have seen him struggling to achieve his aim.its a true story the ''moral '' is as Bonepartay said the word impossible is found in the dictionary of fools.such live examples are there in every village but sad story is we are all looking for easy money. gone are the days when hard work was the first perfence but there is always a silver lining and as you rightly said optimistic , one should always be there.

This individual (the doctor) needs to be celebrated! If you may please, can his name and contact address be posted on Jatland, just so that he can be congratulated personally although i think people with determination who rely on hard work rarely need adulations to motivate them further.
Good job!

Dear Dhanesh,
Thank you very much for the message. It is good to be back in touch with Jatland once more. Happy and Prosperous New Year to all Jats. Thanks for your generosity and inspiration. We all gain strength from unity. This is the latest example which was shared with all of you but I am sure there are a lot of young boys and girls struggling to realise their dreams. If each one of us can inspire atleast one such person then our life has been worthwhile.

Dear Rajender,
Thanks for the message and encouragement. Life has it's ups and downs and it takes a strong spirit to resist the temptation of easy life (which may be possible with easy money). It takes even stronger spirit to struggle for fellow humans. We are fortunate to have inherited such a rich culture where selfless service is an important part of life. However the modern education system seems to be working against it and increasing number of well educated and materially well off people are so much caught up by their false ego that they have started to ignore the welfare of even their own family members leave aside community as a whole. We can not change some one's fate which is based on his/her actions in this life and previous lives (such is hindu belief) but we can always try and inspire fellow beings to do good deeds which result in appropriate fate for the individual. Infact by helping them we are also helping ourselves. I think it is some thing like MLM.

Dear Urmila ji,
Thanks for the message!
Let us not praise this young boy so much that it gets to his head. For him struggle is normal and he is fortunate that he has succeeded in getting admission in to Medical school. There may be others who are not so lucky. If any one wants to pass on the message I will be happy to convey it to him. His name and address can not be revealed for the same reason that it may interfere with his dedication. Surely when I meet him next I will be happy to convey the message of encouragement from all of you.

It is instances like these that make you realise one can really achieve anything against all odds given that the desire is strong, willingless and self belief are there.
