I was watching Monsoon Wedding the other day, and it seems to me that the two leading men in the movie are jats...Praveen Dabas, and Randeep Hooda. Praveen Dabas is reportedly having an affair with Preity Zinta.

I seem to know more about useless trivia than is healthy for a person.

I have a friend Raj Singh in bay area USA, who was in Venture Capital business. Two years ago he sold a company in eight billions. He owned more than eighty companies before the dot com bubble. He was invited by China govt as a state guest for guidence and was a state guest there. I have also asked him to become member of jatland.

As far as I know, Arjun Rampal is a jat. Although I have never met him personally but I know a few people in the industry and they told me that he is a jat.

Pradeep ka E-mail to mujhe pata nahi hein...but Detroit mein unka Brother-in law and sister rehti hein. Brother-in -law ka nam Harinder Singh jaisa sa hai. (Bilkul theek se yaad nahi hai).

I had dinner at their house once. The sister is a doctor and the Brother in law is an engineer at one of the Big Three auto companies.

It feels good to know that we have some very rich Jats and it would be even nicer to know how community benefitted from them. I can count a couple Sir Chhaju Ram and Sir Chhotu
Ram. If we expand our reference of terms for richness and include bravery in it probably those souls have done greater good to the community by inspiring future generations. For example I would consider Subedar Richpal Singh Lamba who won two VCs much richer in giving to the community than any of the rich Jats who only live for themselves or their own family. My grand mother was Lamba from Lamba Githra and even though I had no personal knowledge of Subedar Richpal Singh's family I am proud to be even distantly related to him. How many of to-day's rich can command such a respect ?

They may be rich in material possession but have very little else to inspire others. It is not so important how much money or power one has but what he does with it.

Material wealth is a powerful tool which if not used wisely has the potential to injure the owner. The saying is still true "Poot saput Kyon dhan sanche, Poot kaput to kyon Dhan Sanche". Meaning if your children are good you do not have to accumulate wealth for them because they will be able to look after themselves, and if they are good for nothing brats no amount of wealth is enough. So why worry. There is too much emphasis on wealth now a days but how it was earned appears to be irrelevant to a lot of people. That is where the real problem faced by World to-day. Believe me you will not become rich by counting rich people but may learn a few useful things by associating with good people.

dear all,its for sure rampal's are subcaste from punjabis as i know quite a few of them .as far asfar arjun is concered i do not know any thing but i feel sooner or later we will discover he is also one of them.

ritu beri is a punjabi lady and doughter of one col beri who commanded 10 guards.

recentlywe came across a real jat with rich heart. he is dr balbir singh sihag setlled in u s a.
he is from my village sisai dist. hisar. he got a school constructed for girls in the village. he spent around rs 50 lac on this project and total social work. it was against all odds like village politics that he did it. so i think richness of a person is seen by his large heart and not by his
bank balance.

may god send some more of like dr balbir singh in the community.

infact earlier also i mentioned that dharmendra is a asli jat from ludhiana district. his father was a active arya samaji.dharmendra takes pride in calling himself a jat and love to associate himself with jats.many a times he has been to jat functions specially in jaipur where he has a personal friend mr vijay poonia.in fact i had a opportunity to meet dharmendra in jaipur at mr vijay poonia's daughter's marriage a few years back.

as a matter of fact i have yet to come across a single jatt sikh wthout beards taking pride in calling himself a jat instead of jatt. yes, u can meet some opportunistics who have to draw some benefit while doing so, but as a rule they never do it.
rina dhaka is a daughter of mr bhupender dhaka, a jat from punjab .now since she has married a punjabi sharma ,so u decide what to call her

I lived in Mumbai from 1972 to 1988
Some people started Jat Samaj in Mumbai.
They wanted high profile leadership.
They contacted Dharmendra and Dara Singh.
They made mother of Dharmendra as patron and Dara Singh as president. Also they decided that Dara Singh will always be the president.
Great people belong to all. We started a program "Sitaro Ki Sham". Because of these great people, heros and heroins of film industry come free to this high profile program. In this program, general public buys ticket and samaj has good source of income. Jat Samaj bought its office in Mumbai in 1982.
We gave them more respect than Punjabi Jats.
Also Dara Singh Ji is now President of All India Jat Mahasabha also.
These people also attend Jat Marriages and functions etc.
Dara Singh ji have a farm in Meerut also.
Also when Dara Singh Ji came to Australia 5 years ago, we all Sydney jats gave him a party.
