Oh boy. Tension ho gaya re. The normally
confident "I can take on the world" Sonali is
suddenly all panicky, and doesn't have a flippin'
clue how to get out of this mess. Seriously thought about clandestinely calling INS (now CSCIS) and getting them deported or something. Phir had second thoughts. You know the "maa-baap", "paal pos key bada kiya" and such sob-sob 101 excuses.

Ab pata nahin kya karoon. Just not ready to
tie the knot just like that. I mean Sonali
is meant for far greater things than engineers
and doctors. Apni khoobsurti kya kucch
toh fayada uthaaoon. Koi billionare na
fasaya toh yeh bilkul waste ho jayegee na !
Uss doctor ka kya acchar dalloon jo
sare din davaeeyon ki boo marta ho, aur
apne marizon ki kahaniyan sunata rehta ho.
Yah woh jo sara din stale software nerdy
jokes ko padh kar he he he karta ho.

Do-char lakh dollar kamane waala mujhe
kya khak raani bana ke rakhega !

Anyways, not really looking for any serious
input from anyone. Just letting out
my frustration in a moment of weakness.
This is a larger Jat family after all, right? Toh
, bad dil halka kar rahi thi.

Sonali is no weakling. Will find a way out and

Look, the western way of life is facinating till you are not a part of it... the moment you get into all that stuff(I hope you are getting what I am trying to say) you find it boring... did you happen to read this novel The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri... She has put forth in a splendid way the merits and demerits of all that..... better go on the five stages of dating take time and then find a nice partener for your life... but try to spare yourself from the atrocious way of life...

One thing I must say is that I am rather surprised at how quickly some of the folks on these forums quickly degenerate to the
"sadak-chaap" level. I do admit that we Jats, as a whole, aren't the best of verbal wranglers. But despite that, one would
tend to surmise that given the high education level amongst the privileged members here, the level of exchange would at least
be palatable.

I'm certainly not implying that we should be having highly intellectual and formal discussions here. I for one would be
amongst the first to scamper for the exits. Frankly, I need the wit and humor to spice up the oft placid discussions. But there
is a way and means of going about that. However, it seems too many of our peers here just aren't quite upto snuff.

A case in point is our very own Mandeep Bamal (now desperately trying to metamorphose into Shakti Singh in order to hide the shame of his true self). Till now, every so often I'd see a couple-o-liner posts from him that would
have us befooled into believing that the fella had some nascent charm and wit up his sleeve. That, along with his "leather-jacket"
persona had me fooled. I'll admit that.

But, 'O' how quickly such illusions dissipate ! The moment I trap the fella into verbal engagement with 'Oh so pretty"
Sonali, his true nature comes out. All the "tai", "bhoodia", "daanth paadan laag re sai" start pouring out in flash flood
of inhibited display of inferior breeding. Even Rajendra gets taken in for the ride. Certainly the saying, "It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, rather than open
it and remove all doubt", can be suported now with one very illustrative sample.

Perhaps if Mandeep Ji can gather up the tenacity to forcefully jerk his head out of the bovine rump in which he has it firmly planted as of now, he may be able to find
some of that hidden charm and wit that I'd presumed he may have had. I know it is a bit of a stretch, but wonders have happened, and I'm willing to hold my breath on this one.

At the very least it may help if he can uncork his own rump and let it out. Perhaps this way some of the stench that now emanates via the orifice below his nose, might find
alternate exits.

As an Addendum:

Its better that we keep those impressions purely personal and do not make them public. There are no impressions which are universally of the same quality. Bhai Shakti Singh! We all must accept one thing, whether we like it or not. in day to day life we will face more and more of such conversations and we have to adjust to these new realities. Look at english movies how their language has changed over the years. Four letter words which were never part of the films, are now freely used. Even in Hindi movies they have started using these words so freely.I would draw your further attention to Mahabharat where Duryodhan almost silenced every senior memebr and we all know what the results were. Think for a moment, had some of those senior memebrs adjusted to the new realities and had not fallen to the whims of Duryodhan, things would have been very different. So moral of my saying is that never give up to such language/age intimidations. Hope you know even Vishnu Bhagwaan had to become Barah to kil the BHasmasur..One can not talk in greek with a person who understands only italian...So let us not worry about how people adress, Let us face the winds of change and convert the hot air into cool breez....I am ready at least....hahaha

Pick what you want and filter out the rest. Don't take it personally. You hurt yourself and no one else. Learn to be immune to word !!!! Read that again. Learn to be immune to words. Elixir of irreverance, as I call it.....Maybe I'll expand on this later.

o Stay away from aggregious language if you can't handle the acrimonious exchange. Your use of the words below are inappropriate for a lady as it is. Worse, you have directed them at someone who not only is immune to these things but also far far superior in the effective use of such language. Trust me dear.

Yes Jatin I endorse your views to very large extent. It reminds me of my own thread; " Are Jats Really Brave?". Except few memebrs, no one raised the revolt against the abusive language used against me. Some memebrs went to the extent of praising the guy and that encourgaed him to issue the threat to me. anyway, i was not seeking protectin from anyone and knew how to deal with such empty threats. Now coming to present thread..I don't really understand why some people are so upset? If Sonali is using those words towards her parents in lighter sense, why should people worry about so much here ? Do you guys think that she cares less for her parents just because she used those words? Sorry guys, while taking the risk of being ridiculed once again, I would like to say that we jats must learn how to treat a woman as equal. Uncle ji, humor ki baat toh yeh hai ki hum kucch log har cheez ko hans ke dekh lete hain. Gum ko bhi hans kar sahen kar lete hain.
It makes a lot of things lot more manageable. So if you find something funny it doesn't necessarily mean it should be in the humor section.

Rahi quality of discussion ki baat...I have encroached on that subject before...so let us not go there.

Bottom line...It has been my experience that in all unmoderated forums where members are free to post what they want, the quality of discussion tends to flow towards the lowest common denominator.
