Water shortage in Indian states

What can be done to avoid this specially Jat land area, Rajsthan will be affected most, south of Haryana will be in the same situation. More Johds can be dug on panchayat lands, but as most of the panchayat land has been ditributed among landless SC/ST, that does not look any option any more.

There used to be a well planned water storage scheme in the arid areas of Rajasthan and Haryana. With the development of techonology we have forgotten the old system of water storage and recharging. The catchment areas of these recharging bodies have been destroyed. This may lead to severe dissaters in future.
