[Technology India]: London, Sept. 27 : In an age where pollution is rising at alarming rate and ecological disasters are looming large, automobile giant Toyota has reportedly developed an environment friendly concept car, some parts of which are made from potatoes.
According to The Daily Mirror, a plastic derived from a natural acid in sweet potatoes has been used to make the rear bumpers, trims and mats in the ES3 prototype.
The organic material is perfectly biodegradable as well as tough as conventional materials.
"It's proven science and environmentally kinder. Eco-plastic has enormous potential," a spokesman from Toyota was quoted as saying. (ANI)
