Discussions at Talkatora stadium on Saturday focused on the lack of quality education and growing unemployment.
THE ONGOING Jat conclave here saw prominent members from all over the world discuss their commu*nity's future and issues of concern. Discussions at Talkatora stadium on Saturday fo*cused on the lack of quality education and growing unemployment among the youth, particularly in rural areas. Participants felt there was a need to reform the society and do away with female infanticide and dowry. They felt successive governments had failed to address their problems. The community is now planning to raise the issue during the general elections. The dwindling fortune of farmers was also an issue of concern. Farmers said they were facing severe financial crisis. The participants emphasized self-employment and other schemes to support small and marginal farmers. Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje said their brethren had largely been neglected over the years.
