bhai, they have only made it more difficult for us to get visa from india for europe or us. U can count on it that they will change the rules again and make it more difficult. I can tell u that there are many indians here in europe and especially the uneducated people from rual punjab which are doing things that are harmfull for our image of hard working and decent people. And for the us i think it depends on the administration in power, this administration is as far as i can judge tending towards the lations there.

If India plays its cards right, it may turn out to be positive thing. The most important outcame may be that they will be more forthcomming in extraditing criminals, terrorists and underworld gang memebers who escape to europe. The first indication of this +ve move wud be for Portugal to send back the underworld gang members in its custody.

Dear Krishan & Other friends,
Please allow me to comment a bit on this issue. I am not very experienced in these things but then even a little exposure at the right place is enough to give you a lot of knowledge. I hope I don't digress.
You know each country worth its name has its core interests which will never be compromised under any circumstances. However, with times even these core interests change. Terrorism is a word that the west would use to beat the rest of the world with till its 'Core Interests' are met. In the late 40s, through the 50s and 60s it was 'Communism'.
Then came the issues of the 'Environment', 'Democracy', 'Human Rights' etc. All these were used by the powerful nations for their advantage. I am by no means advocating degradation of environment, human rights abuse or dictatorship. But the fact remains that 'Terrorism' is the latest weapon in the hands if the powerful to sort out the world as per their needs.
When ever a major terrorist attack takes place I don't react because no one knows the truth as yet because we don't know what happens behind the scene. May be the world will know the real truth about major terrorist strikes after 50 years when the relevant papers become declassified.
I personally feel that we JATS will benefit from stricter rules and regulations because we are basically law abiding citizens. A JAT always respects the law and is comfortable with strict but fair dispensation.
Now regarding Abu Salem being deported from Spain to India. I again have a different opinion. He would be better off in Spain and at least undergo the punishment as laid down by the law. If he comes to India he would be provided all facilities inside the prison to rebuild his empire. No evidence or witness will go against him and he might contest the elections too. I think he is better off where he is.
Thanks and regards,
Lt Col JS Malik (Retd)

Referring to the question putforth by Krishan, well to be honest, it really matters a lot if any such name of indian / indian origin is broadcasted worldwide for criminal activities. Politically and socially everything is effected. Indians esp Hindus are regarded with respect away from such activities but this certainly has bought shame to us, and in every aspect, be it visa, immigration policies , social bindings etc everywhere more stricter terms are expected. But we really hope that indians live up to the impression of hard working and honourable citizens worldwide, esp this is responsibility of every indian living abroad, we are ambassadors of our nation and carry its name, we cant afford to malice india with our activities.
I sincerely wish those guys named in madrid bombings (of indian origin) prove to be innocent and then india play its cards to put all things upright again !!
