Hello Everybody,
At the outset allow me to introduce myself, I am a young scientist working as Research Associate Fellow of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Delhi and pursuing my work at the Institute of Human Behaviour & Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Delhi. I have been working on emotional intelligence for the last four years. I have authored a book "emotional intelligence:the indian scenario". In addition I have contributed some articles in journals too. My another book "Emotional intelligence:Theoretical and Cultural perspectives" is in pipeline. I am B.A., B.Ed., M.Ed., and Ph.D (on emotional intelligence).
Through this forum I would like to share mainly two points :-
1. I feel my previllage if I could do anything for my society (jat) or individual bhai.
2. What are my future perspectives.
In fact I have been invited to deliver a lecture on emotional intelligence at Holland, but they won't provide travelling and lodging. Kindly advice me any agency in India or abroad who could provide me help. Because I won't bear this expanse my own.
Hoping to receive reply soon.
with kind regards,
Sincerely
Vinod

Dear Dr Vinod,
Its really wonderful to know about you and your conntibutions in the field. My advice would be;
1. One should not accept such invitaions for a lecture where the party inviting you is not willing to take care of you. Had you been preseniting your reaserch paper in some meeting, things would have been different. Hosts of Indian agencies, including your own ICMR and DST etc would have paid your airfare.
2. I am not sure how well circulated your books are. However, if you yourself hold the copyrights of the books and the matter contained in them consists of major portions from your research work, it won't be a bad idea to explore some booksellers in the west who will be willing to sell the book here. That will give you name and money both..These days authors make really lot of money in west..

Dear Dr. Vinod,
Your resume looks very impressive and the subject pretty complicated. I would advise that you send your resume to various Universities in whichever part of the world you wish to settledown or wish to travel. I am sure, if your work is good, you will find ample opportunities from most university. Any thing dealing with emotions is very much in demand specially in the Western Wrold, but then your work needs to address their special needs.

Dear Mr. Rajendra,
Thanks for your prompt reply and valuable suggestions.
Sir, I am going to present my original research paper based on my Ph.D thesis. I had submitted an abstract some months back and you would be happy to learn that my abstract has been accepted by the committee. It was amongst the participants from 18 countries across the world. In fact, I had written to organizers but they are not been able to provide me travelling and lodging facility. The forcum where I would like to present is EQ Alliance Forum, in which forum all the eminent researchers working on emotional intelligence are likely to deliver the lecture. That's why I am also interested for presentation.
In an Indian conference I have won PB Buckshey award for best paper presentation.
I had discussed this issue with ICMR but they don't provide anything accept their regular employees. Being a researcher associate, my position is a tenure only for 3 years.
The copyright of my book is with the publisher, as you know these people are cunning. After having a good sale and I have received several letter of appreciations. Despite the fact he always says that he is not getting any benefit from this book. Anyway.............
My other book is in the pipeline, for which we have been negotiating with NOVA SCIENCE PUBLISHERS, hope it would get good results.
For my trip to Holland, I have two three ideas:
1. If somebody can host me during the conference in Holland, (3-4 days) by this way I will have save some amount.
2. Somebody can arrange a few lectures of mine on emotional intelligence around the days of conference. Hope, by the way of lecture I will certain get some amount.
3. Any agency in the abroad, who can sponsor me for travelling only whether by the cheapest class.
Kindly advice, if possible
with kind regards,
Vinod

Dear Dr Vinod,
You should get in touch with following agencies in Delhi immediately and follow it vigorously;
1. INSA (Indian National Science Academy) at ITO
2. DST (Department of Science and Technology), Qutub Institutional area
3. CSIR (their office is in NPL campus at PUSA)
Just chase it everywhere. I am sure you would succeed. Look at Jatland members who live in Holland. Might be some one there who will be able to be accommodate you in his home for few nights.
Since you are in book writing business, please do sort of bargaining with publishers. Try your contracts with international ones where you will have larger market..

Dear Maj. Sahab,
Hello! Now, I am very strong with the encouragement of my seniors & colleagues like Col. Sahab, Rajendra sir, Dr. Renu, Dr. Poonam, you, Vikas and others. Today, I tried to contact CSIR, but the dealing assistant was not there. So, I will take it up tomorrow. In addition, I tried to contact at INSA, DST etc. which sites suggested by my well wishers. Mr. Dhaka called me up from AICTE, so I will never discouraged by the comments of Mr. Shamsherji.
Thanks for keeping my moral up.
with regards,
Vinod
