MY DEAR RAJENDRA JEE,
On the very outset let me tell you that india's enemy is within.when i say that,i mean poor governance, poor fiscal discipline, lack of accountability, rampant corruption, over population and so on and so forth.however there is a silver linning here,as our business houses are becoming more and more professional and are learning fast from other developing economies and i have no hesitation to say that they are on real fast track.
however coming to the core question,i feel only china can superceed us in times to come and give us the run for our money.nice of you to have brought out such a burning topic to the fore........keep it up

Dear Mr Dahiya,
Fully agree with you. India was the largest world economy just about 150-200 years back and I am sure we will move upward very soon. In fact most of these reports take into account only the white income. If one takes into account the Indian black economy, we will be staright away number three if not number 2. Ofcourse GDP alone does not make us great. Its the per capita income which tells the real story...So, India may be the fourth ricjest economy, Indians by and large remain a very poor people.

Dear Rajendra Ji,
I fully agree with you. Who cares if Infosys or Satyam has a billion in reserves, what matters is what power does a common man has in his hand, which is what the per capita income, the median and mean income when seen together, gives a better insight into where we stand.... that shows we are not even in the middle of the range :(

There should be no hesitation in admiting the fact that the common man still has to come a long way to match the US standards. But yes we should appreciate the way India has managed the economy when the whole world was going through a crisis and developed nations like Japan are struglling hard to cope.
It is always good to have organisations like Wipro, stayam , Infosys to have the monetry resreves as they are also in a way contributing to the improvement of life style of India and alongwith it also sending strong signals to the world about our capabilities.
We will definately one day stand on the TOP of the world and India will come back to its glory once again.
Lets all contribute towards it ..
