It is seen that the Neem tree is fast vanishing from our land.I remember that when i was a small boy ,there were thousands of NEEM trees in my village but now i hardly see any of them.It is really painful to see such a wonderful plant with herbal and medical significance depleting in number at such a fast pace.TO save this magical plant/tree,we have to think of a broad based plan and have to educate people at large scale.I for one has done that in a small way by planting 14 neem trees in last one year or so and i am happy to say that out of these 14 trees,12 have survived and are doing fine and i am monitering their growth myself.
Any suggesstion from members please..................?

Sir,
I really appreciate you on this issue. I started this drive in 1998 and I began it by planting many "PIPAL Trees" wherever i got a chance.
Till now I have planted around 100-125 trees(most of them PIPAL). Generally I uproot the PIPAL Tree(since this plant has tendency to grow on the roof of houses/bulidings/near water tanks) and then plant it at a suitable place where it has better chances of survival. I have also planted "KIKAR", "NEEM" & "SHISHAM".
I have heard from the elder people that "PIPAL Tree" can only be planted by PANDITS(Brahmans) or else one may be cursed. Just to prove this thing to myself that any good work done can not bring bad luck, I started with "PIPAL".
We should spread information on water conservation as well. It is also an important issue.

Nice post and "to the MY point" thread also.
Started growing plants..since my 2nd standard..
My Grand father was the "real person" who injected me with these views 'bout this beautiful..nurturing and planting trees etc....
& first which I planted was a "Kaagjee nimboo ka podha" which my Late Dadaji gifted me at that time. I plant that with my own hands. I was so much obsessed 'bout that at least I use to watch and take care of that plant 4-5 times in a day. ( before going to school and after coming from school.. and during winter time .. although it was 2 feet in height...I use to dress my that Nimboo plant..with a simple cloth so that mere nimboo ke podhey ko sardee na lagey) :) :)
I'm dead sure till now .. or ab to sama yeh hai ki jit bhi paar bas gi vahin ek pedda bona hai..chaaye nimboo ho , aam ho , neem ho, sheesam ho ya fir ho amaltaas !!
Same thoughts I'm trying my best to infuse inmy kid's thoughts..Baki balkan ki Marjee..
Stay Tuned
