Dear Friends,
This is how majority of Indians feel about Bush;

I am not sure how the Indian community in USA feels about him. Personally even I find him more positive about India. We had a short debate here on Jatland when some members tried to ridicule Bush on his not attending Diwali party in white house. In my view the Indo-US relations will improve further to the benefit of both the countries. Open sky policy has already been announced permitting as many flights as required between two countries.

US has very well realised that they can't ignore India anymore so does Bush. One example, they made lot of fuss about outsourcing but couldn't control so. And the way Indian economy is growing, I see more good Indo-US relations.

I had said earlier on similar debate, also, please don't get carried away by any impressions. In international relations and politics, there are no permanent friends and no permanent enemies, there are only permanent interests. That is exactly I had mentioned on that thread where I rediculed him for not attending the Diwali Function. What I had said is that in 2003 when he needed support from Indian community, he organized and publicized that function, but in 2004 immediately after the election he did not find time to attend Diwali function, while he could do same to attend Ramzan function.
Why can't we learn from History which is not even two decades old. US created and armed Taliban, when they needed them, they also eliminated them when they did not need them.
There is nothing wrong in Bush supporting India, for he sees reasons in doing so and he sees the US and his party's interests in it. Does that mean that he supports Indian community in US too? The US is fighting a war against Terrorism, yet Pakisttan a known terrorist state is their biggest partner in war against Taliban. The information trekking system can trek the smallest item in Iran, but it can't trek the large scale infiltration that take place on Indo-Pak border.
My perception of a leader is what he/she does for a majority of public and not formed on isolated political activities. The US is facing the biggest deficit of history, how come a US citizen be supporting such leadership. One might say he won with larger vote this time, that is true, that is what happened in our country too. We know some of our leaders are having tainted history, yet likes of Lallo, Mayawati, Bhajanlal, Karunanidhi, Jailalithas keep coming back to power.
Why India, US views are well known about Human Rights and Communism, yet they have their biggest trade partner in China, whether it is Mr. Bush or Mr. Clinton. Indian favor bush because he gives them tax cuts in US and business in India, but question is does Mr. Bush favors India?
